This story is a good one. I liked reading this, especially in a cozy environment. Not my favorite, but I think many readers will enjoy this story. A bit suspenseful, easy to visualize. Makes a great holiday gift!

And then Sam's world spins out her Friend Jake dislikes the person Helping Sam and Jen, then Jen goes a bit obsessed at trying to get Rosa.

5.0 out of 5 stars Phantom Stallion is a Great Series!!, March 3, 2005
I have read the first thirteen of the Phantom Stallion series, and Golden Ghost is one of my favorites. Like all the Phantom Stallion books, a lot of different story lines are presented throughout the book. You get to know not only the human characters, but also the horses, each of which have their own personality as well. I highly recommend the Phantom Stallion series for any horse lover!

4.0 out of 5 stars Golden Ghost, October 5, 2003
A Kid's Review
The phantom stallion books are very well written and well presented. In this book, Emotional Sam and logical, scientific Jen get an assignment of exploring a "ghost town" for school. In the process, they see a palimino horse that resembles Jen's families lost mare, golden rose. Jen is set on capturing the mare to talke back to her father so they can get some more money and not have to move to the city. The phantoms new lead mare is found dead on the side of the road and they think the water near the ghost town poisoned. It ends well with Jen having caught the mare and her and her father making up and everything but there's still one thing about it. Bryanna has run into a problem, she dosen't know where she belongs in this family, how is she helping to support it and strengthen it? and this isn't resolved by the end of the book. This book was also slower than the others and it didn't really suck me into it until at least the 4th or 5th chapter. I think this is going to be like heartland, the next couple books will be slow and basically have the same plot and everything and then, about book #11, it'll get way better.

A Kid's Review
Sam and her friend Jen are doing a school project in

an old ghost town. They see a horse and when Jen starts thinking

it's a horse that her family lost. She sort of goes crazy trying to catch the mare. I think the fire and ice palominos sound pretty cool.

Very exciting book. better than I thought it would be.

5.0 out of 5 stars Ghost of Mystery, July 10, 2004
A Kid's Review
This story enchanted me. I thought that the horse was a ghost. It kept me on the edge the whole time the way that Sam's friend was so crazy about caughting Golden Rose. I thought it was grand I hope many others read this story of mystery. The story was scary the way the whole Phantom Stallion's herd was in danger because of the water.Keep reading the series.
