Book Description

This book is a burning message, an Exodus call that originated in at least a small way like the original Exodus call in a burning bush. Moses experienced the zeal of the deliverer to see His people free to encounter Him. The goal of this book is for you to discover the pounding heart of God in a way that, I believe, will result in a deep and resounding cry of agreement to embrace a radical revolution in the church.

About the Author

John Burton is a church planter, conference speaker and author with a mandate to see the fire of God's presence invade cities and nations. He planted Revolution Church in Manitou Springs, Colorado and Revival Church in Detroit, Michigan. John's ministry style could be described as wildly passionate, engaging, humorous and loaded with the flow and power of the Holy Spirit. The prevailing theme of the ministry God has given John revolves around the topic of 'being with God'. Where God is, things happen. In His presence, the place where He is, is the fullness of joy. As we discover the wonderful mystery of walking in the Spirit, praying always and making aggressive strides in faith, life becomes incredible! It truly is an experience in the invisible realm. As we tangibly experience God through deep and active prayer we are interacting 'in the Spirit'. As we walk by faith and understand how amazing a Holy Spirit driven life is, being a believer quickly becomes the greatest adventure on earth! If you would like to invite John, who is currently focused on ministry to churches, teaching, consulting and writing, to speak at your church, conference, camp or other event please visit

Terrific book that everyone who is interested in revival should be reading. so many churches, so little results of any significance. Something is wrong and we need to reconsider what God's plans for a church should be...

Picture a man in a very nice suit standing on a dock next to a lake on a breezy, but nice day. The lite breeze blows his hair and he gently puts it back into place. The breeze then shakes a tree, and a leaf floats down landing on his shoulder, he then swipes it away with one gust of his hand. With his suit now spotless and his hair in place, he smiles looking into the warm sunny sky. As we look over this man we see a rope around his foot. We follow that rope into the lake, suddenly we see a speeding boat far in the distance. To our amazement we see that the rope is attached to that boat. The man doesn't see it, then slam! The man is now in the lake being drug through the water. His hair is flying all around, his suit is torn up and now soaked, so much for all the preening.

This is the image I had in my head, after reading John Burton's book "Pharaoh in the Church" The man in the suit is the "old system" and the boat is the direction of God. The rope is the inevitability of that direction. Whoa unto the church leaders who worry about keeping what they have pretty, and cheers unto the church that is getting ready to get messed up! Grab some skies and stop worrying about the suit and the hair, your about ready to go for a ride! Thank you John for letting s know about that rope!

I highly recommend "PHARAOH IN THE CHURCH" by JOHN BURTON.
