PHARAOH IN THE CHURCH
by: John Burton
Picture a man in a very nice suit standing on a dock next to a lake on a breezy, but nice day. The lite breeze blows his hair and he gently puts it back into place. The breeze then shakes a tree, and a leaf floats down landing on his shoulder, he then swipes it away with one gust of his hand. With his suit now spotless and his hair in place, he smiles looking into the warm sunny sky. As we look over this man we see a rope around his foot. We follow that rope into the lake, suddenly we see a speeding boat far in the distance. To our amazement we see that the rope is attached to that boat. The man doesn't see it, then slam! The man is now in the lake being drug through the water. His hair is flying all around, his suit is torn up and now soaked, so much for all the preening.
This is the image I had in my head, after reading John Burton's book "Pharaoh in the Church" The man in the suit is the "old system" and the boat is the direction of God. The rope is the inevitability of that direction. Whoa unto the church leaders who worry about keeping what they have pretty, and cheers unto the church that is getting ready to get messed up! Grab some skies and stop worrying about the suit and the hair, your about ready to go for a ride! Thank you John for letting s know about that rope!
I highly recommend "PHARAOH IN THE CHURCH" by JOHN BURTON.
