A review of the history of the Pharmaceutical Industry,
By A Customer
This review is from: Pharmaceutical Innovation: Revolutionizing Human Health (The Chemical Heritage Foundation Series in Innovation and Entrepreneurship) (Hardcover)
The book gives a good introduction to the history of the pharmaceutical industry since the early nineteenth century. I, a chemist who is interested in the industry, found the book to be easy to read, full of interesting details, and very informative. The book points out some aspects that allow new drug development possible.

I am writing this review in January 28, 2004 and I am compiling information sources for a research. I bought in Amazon this book because the reviews were fine, but when it arrived, I saw it was completely useless, since it has data updated to 1999 only! Too bad I wasted my money, I recommend both Amazon and Publishers to warn customers like me that this book is outdated by 5 years!!!! When this book was reviewed Pfizer didn't even knew Pharmacia's existence and Prozac was within the 5 top-sold products (!)
