5.0 out of 5 stars Easy to use, truly "flash cards"
I like these cards because they are true flash cards and do not have gobs of overwhelming information on them- just the quick facts.

This review is from: Brs Pharmacology (Board Review) (Cards)
The good: These flashcards are quickly digestible, highlighting the most important aspects of most of the major drugs and drug classes. They test only one concept per card.

The bad: The cards do have errors. If you only study from these cards, you might believe that the morning-after pill contains RU-486, or that loop diuretics cause hypercalcemia, both of which are untrue. If BRS has published a list of errata with corrections, it was not apparent.

These make for a good study aid, but cannot be the only tool you use to study for a medical school pharmacology class, or for the USMLE Step 1.

2.0 out of 5 stars Not enough info, June 5, 2009
This review is from: Brs Pharmacology (Board Review) (Cards)
When studying for USMLE Step I, these cards leave out important aspects for each drug. They are decent for indication and major side effects, but miss out on a lot of important, often-tested, mechanisms. USMLE is very nit-picky about mechanisms of actions, so it's a big "down side" to these cards. These would be good for a quick refresher - but not for primary reinforcement study techniques.

5.0 out of 5 stars The best out there, October 27, 2010
This review is from: Brs Pharmacology (Board Review) (Cards)
I have gone through several different pharmacology flash cards and this unlike every one else i have found this is a true flash card reveiw system. Most of the other, are just a textbook written on flash cards, which is fine if you have a lot of time. If you are looking for nice quick review this is the best set.

3.0 out of 5 stars not as good as lange, December 3, 2011

Lange flash cards for pharm are much better. these are kind of outdated.... look at the publication date. I think they are 2004? Pharmacology is the topic that you should have the most up to date information because of all the new drugs. So these cards are outdated, and honestly aren't really that comprehensive. They give you some important facts, no doubt, but aren't comprehensive. I found Lange pharm cards better.

4.0 out of 5 stars helpful flashcards, March 26, 2011
This review is from: Brs Pharmacology (Board Review) (Cards)
Just the right amount of detail for studying for USMLE Step 1, not really enough for my pharm class at school. A little chunky to be carrying in my purse for when I'm standing in line randomly but still overall really convenient and helpful.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great supplement to study pharm for boards/pharm course, September 17, 2010

This review is from: Brs Pharmacology (Board Review) (Cards)
The flash cards are a really great supplement to board review books such as the BRS pharmacology. I would definitely NOT use this as a sole source of studying for the boards as they provide short but key aspects of each drug. The cards are organized by system and on one side (the question side) it states the purpose and unique effects/side effects of the drug and on the other side (answer side) it states the class of the drug, the main drug within the class and any other drugs within that class that are of note. These cards are a great reinforcer/refresher of material that you would have received from your pharmacology course and/or your pharmacology text. It is a definite must for boards!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great cards for reviewing knowledge., June 3, 2010
This review is from: Brs Pharmacology (Board Review) (Cards)
These cards are a great way to make sure you know the high yield facts about a drug. I like using mine after I've been studying First Aid, to make sure that I've actually got the concepts down. They include mainly the most important drug points, not everything about a drug (if you want something like that, go with Pharm Cards). If you want to use cards for active learning, these ones are great!
