4.0 out of 5 stars Brenner Pharm Not-So Flashy, December 1, 2007
This review is from: Pharmacology Flash Cards, 1e (Cards)
The Brenner Pharmacology Flash Cards are an excellent source for the cards that are in it. My only real disappointment has been in the number of cards. Many of the drugs in our course (medical pharm) did not have drug cards, however the drugs that don't have cards have FDA required insert information available at the Elsevier Studentconsult.com.

Each card includes the name and class on the front (with brand/generic names). Then on the back it includes the front's information with the

Clinical Class
Pharmacologic class
MOA
Clinical Indications
ADR's
Special information
Similar drugs

These aren't the exact titles, but it makes the point. For the drugs that I was tested over, I had all I needed in the lecture materials, but the cards sounded down the information and I believe will greatly help for board preparations.

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Pharmacology Flash Cards, 1e (Cards)
These cards come in a great box and are very high quality, so that is nice. The problem is that they don't cover many of the drugs I'm required to know. This makes it hard to use them as a study aid because you tend to forget about the drugs that aren't included.
I don't take step 1 for another 5 months so I can't comment on their usefulness in that regard.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great for USMLE studying!, February 18, 2008
This review is from: Pharmacology Flash Cards, 1e (Cards)
I've been using these to study for Step 1 of the USMLE and find them to be great. The basics: mechanism of action, clinical indications and adverse effects are all on each card. I think they are less detailed than some cards -- no info. on the pharmacokinetics, but I don't really need that information at this stage. I would recommend these cards without hesitation.
