Essential Pharmacotherapy Data at Your Fingertips!

A Doody's Core Title ESSENTIAL PURCHASE!

4 STAR DOODY'S REVIEW
"The book addresses all aspects of 84 disease states and disorders, from presentation and pathology to treatment and monitoring. Each chapter focuses on individual groups of medication considered for treatment and gives a concise overview of them in easy to see bulleted points. The qualities that I find especially useful are that charts and algorithms are easily identifiable and tables are shaded light gray for quick reference . . . Although this handbook contains an enormous amount of information, it conveniently fits into a lab coat pocket. It is an extremely useful reference." -- Doody's

5.0 out of 5 stars Thorough, yet concise, coverage of all major disease states, May 8, 2000
This is the best formatted, most current handbook on pharmacotherapy. I especially appreciate the pathophysiologic approach, drug treatment, and monitoring parameters outlined throughout the book. Chapters are concise, and yet offer thorough coverage of the most commonly encountered disease states. Each chapter is written by one or more expert in the field; chapters can be read very quickly. A great working tool for clinical pharmacists. I definetely recommend it.

5.0 out of 5 stars great for therapeutics class and for pharmacy practice, January 27, 2003
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This is a great book, easy to read and follow. Concise enough where you can read it fast but with enough background information so the drug therapy makes sense. You will get a thorough understanding on what drugs are used and why. Picks up on the key points a pharmacist needs to know in practice and a student or someone who is studying for the boards needs to know for exams. Flowcharts are great, has JNC-VI guidelines which are the standard when it comes to drug therapy and pharmaceutical care. Overall, a great book that will enhance your understanding by leaps and bounds.

5.0 out of 5 stars Physician assistant student, June 24, 2006
This is a great book. I love how it isn't just about the drugs, but gives background on the diagnosis that you are treating. I think it is layed out well, and find it very useful. I notice a lot of pharm students are reviewing this but I think it is good for practitioner's as well. However, don't think this will fit in your labcoat pocket, it could but it is sorta heavy.
