This book is not worth the money,

This review is from: Pharmacy Practice and the Law (Pharmacy Practice & the Law) (Paperback)
The content is wordy and the case scenarios do not provide any response therefore it is not as helpful as it could be. It doesnt have any study questions.

do not buy,

this book is very poor. do not purchase. I am an intern pharmacist and it is in no way applicable to the practice of pharmacy. Having used this book, I have no better understanding of pharmacy law. I recommend the Weisman text for CA law, as it is a better book.

Not worth the paper it's printed on...,
This review is from: Pharmacy Practice and the Law, Sixth Edition (Pharmacy Practice & the Law) (Paperback)
This book is wordy with long drawn out chapters that are brutal to read. The cyclical writing almost predisposes it to contradictory conclusions. It seems that the writers wanted a pretentious book, full of long complicated definitions and examples, instead of focusing on practical, clear, concise interpretations.

Ambiguity interpreted to be more ambiguous,

Law is often not clear of what it says. The content of this book is wordly, lenghty, and confusing. The author often chose to use the word that is hard to understand. At least in my point of view, this book does not help much to understand the law, but rather causes more confusion to its readers. The book should be more clear and concise if it wants to deliver the message.

Not for the MPJE!,
This review is from: Pharmacy Practice and the Law (Pharmacy Practice & the Law) (Paperback)
Book has a lot of cases and may be useful for classwork. It is not a useful study guide for the MPJE. It is too wordy and includes too much information that is not relevant to the MPJE.

Pharmacy students should not be reading this book. Look for other pharmacy law resources, such as the Weisman book.

Poorly written and confusing,
This review is from: Pharmacy Practice and the Law, Sixth Edition (Pharmacy Practice & the Law) (Paperback)
This book is very poorly written in its wording. Although the topics covered contains a very broad spectrum of pharmacy related cases and events, very few of these pertain to the actual practice of pharmacy. This is a book written by and for lawyers only, and is inappropriate, or is not fit for pharmacists looking to receive a full understanding of the law. In addition, the grammar is very unrefined, and sentences contain several juxtapositions one after another. Overall, this book is not worth the time spent reading it, due to the confusing manner it was written.

The book arrived way ahead of schedule and in the condition promised. It has been very helpful with my classes in pharmacy school.

This book is very boring, but all pharmacy law books are pretty boring! This book lays out federal law pretty well, but some things are already dated. Easy to read, cases at the end of each chapter give good practical experience.

Pharmacy Practice and Law,
By A Customer
This review is from: Pharmacy Practice and the Law (Paperback)
This is a fairly easy to read text that is helpful in preparing for the pharmacy boards. It provides essential coverage of pertinent information needed in the everyday practice of pharmacy. As a pharmacy intern I found this text not only excellent for board review but also as a continuing source for reference as a pharmacist. It is divided into varioius chapters with relavent and useful case studies. It also raises day-to-day ethical questions in the practice of pharamcy that you may encounter. If you're looking for a comprehensive, easy-to-follow book on pharmacy practice, both in hospital and retail based environments, then this is the book for you. |
