Better for Some Than Others,

I work in a fairly large hospital pharmacy and was hoping fora referance I could pick and use at a moment's notice. In the couple of months I've been carrying this book around it has never once been of any use to me. This guide's area of speciality is aimed at the top 200 most prescribed drugs in a retail setting, an area where most experianced technicians really don't need much help. It is particulary light in the area of injectable medications used in a hospital setting. The print is a little larger than I'd like. A lot more information or item listings could have been included if a smaller font size had been used. For newly minted technicians working in a retail setting this book is probably worth the expense. I'm still looking for something more suitable.

For its size it contains a great deal of information.Do not buy this if you are looking for a very very comprehensive guide with "every" drug name there is. I used mine alongside my studying. If you are studying for your PTCE and watch shows like Grey's Anatomy or HOUSE (etc etc) - keep your book at hand. Just to keep you a bit more on your toes.

I bought this book to study for my upcoming PTCB exam. I am using it almost everyday at work and love it. It gives more information than the basic free books printed by drug companies and is laid out for quick reference. The obscure drugs that are rarely used are in there as well as the ones most used and this is helping me for my exam study. If you are looking at this book and considering it, you must need it. Go ahead and order it!

This is a good reference if you're studying for the PTCE exam. It was recommended to me through a prep class and I'm glad I spent the money. However, it isn't as comprehensive as some of the others review materials I've seen. If you're in a pharmacy setting it would be more helpful than as a study supplement for a student. Overall, very thorough and a good reference to own.

This is an excellent resource for drug listings. Everyone who takes prescription drugs should have a copy of this book. I am studying to become a Certified Pharmacy Technician, and this is an excellent go to book. The size of the book is nice because it's small enough to carry in a pocket, for ease of use.

This is a nice little aid for on the job. Not only does it cross-reference brand/generic, it also gives pronunciations :) and what the drug is used for. All there at your fingertips. With the hundreds of drugs we stock, this is a must-have.
