Pharmacy History as Literature,
By
This review is from: Pharmacy in World War II (Pharmaceutical Heritage.) (Paperback)
One would not expect a scholarly and well-annotated history book that covers an arcane subject to rise to the level of literature, but this book does. It is brimful of interest and good writing, and is an absolutely terrific read.Dr. Worthen did his research well; he deftly distilled the historical essence of military pharmacy leading up the war years, and tightly encapsulated the practice of pharmacy during and immediately after WW2. I cannot recall reading any book on the history of pharmacy that was as impressive as this one is. |
