Drive like a local in any town!, February 4, 2003
This review is from: Pharos PK015 Pocket GPS Navigator for Pocket PC Phone, incl. GPS Receiver, Software & US Maps (Office Product)
I recently returned from a trip to the San Francisco and Berkley areas. It was so nice not to have to follow directions, make mistakes and have to backtrack, but to be able to get the GPS' directions in real time. It's accurate; I was able to drive and anticipate turns and reach my destination accurately and quickly.
I was also very impressed by the ability of the software to concatenate separate maps into a single virtual map.
I found the hardware and software to be reliable.
I'm using this on a Pocket PC Phone by T-Mobile, with 128MB SD memory card (this is where I store music and maps).
Hints:
Wait about a minute after hooking up to acquire satellite data.
If there're tall buildings drive to an open area or turn and the next block to expose a different part of the skies.
