About the Author
Yuri Okunev has more than 20 years of research and engineering experience in digital communications, radio and satellite systems, wireless networks, and spread spectrum systems. Currently a systems engineer with Lucent Technologies Corporation, he holds a Ph.D. in engineering from Saint Petersburg State University of Telecommunications. Dr. Okunev has published 79 scientific papers and holds 18 patents.

Rare Material made highly readable.,

This book handles a rather arcane area of digital communications - Phase and Differential Phase Modulation. However, it is amazingly readable. I highly recommend it for DSP algorithm designers, and others who must implement practical solutions in working hardware. That sets the book apart from many other communications texts, which don't make the connection to real world implementations. Bravo to the publisher for agreeing to publish such rare material.
