I ordered this set as a replacement for my still working Sennheiser MX300, now showing signs of fatigue after 3 1/2 years of torture in different environment hot, cold, moisture).
I used a Cowon X5 as audio source with Original firmware and Rockbox. At start, the sound looked crisp, as good as my Mx300, but with a slight sibilance when it came to the voices. The bass was very discrete, with a poor sound-staging. But after 10 hours of burn-in process, with many music styles Jazz, Pop, Sountracks), the Phiaton's audio quality improved greatly. the sibilance became light and the sound staging improved. The Bass became more and more present, without being omnipresent. but after 20 hours of burn-in the sibilance became unnoticeable, and I began to hear instruments I've never heard with my Mx300. I will go on with the burn-in till 50 hours and will update the review.

The Phiaton Ps20 is really a great set for a pair of earbuds below the 100$. I compared them with Dr. Dre headphones, and they blow the Dr. Dre set out of the water.

It comes with a pouch and 3 extra pairs of buds extra small, small and large). the wire is stiff, so you will not get annoyed with the entanglement.

The only con that I can report is that they really don't block the noise. So if you are looking for noise-isolating earbuds, those are not for you, unless you buy a set of foam tips for that. count an extra 12$

I'll preface this review by saying that I have only had these earphones (half-in-ear headphones, whatever) for a few days; that said, I already have concerns about the build quality. While in the process of changing eartips, the front piece of the right earphone containing the nozzle separated from the body of the earphone, leaving the nozzle hanging by the two speaker wires. I should note that this occurred as a result of only minimal force being applied; I wasn't torquing or pulling on the earphones excessively or anything. Of course, I immediately assumed the worst, thinking the earphones were ruined, but after careful inspection, I discovered that nothing was wrong with the wires themselves. Since the connection between the wires and the speaker was fine, I attempted to fit the halves back together, and they immediately snapped back into place. After listening to the earphones extensively after this mishap, I determined that nothing was wrong with them after all. So, although the earphones seem to be no worse for the wear, I am certainly not reassured about their build quality and durability. It seems to me that an extra dot of glue would lessen the likelihood of the front half popping off while changing eartips, but really, I'm disappointed that it happened in the first place.

That aside, the sound quality is great. Having used them with everything from an iPod Nano, Sansa Fuze+, Kindle Fire, PC, and television, I can confidently say that these earphones sound quite good with just about anything you can throw at them.

The Phiaton PS 20 headphones have great sound. I was very hesitant to buy another set of earbuds as I have tried many different brands (Coby, Sony, JVC) that just didn't satisfy my liking. This was not the case with these earbuds, the sound is rich and they seem to be of quality and have a nice bag to put them in when not in use. They are also the most noise-cancelling earbuds I have ever tried and owned which allows me to listen to music with hearing little to no outside sound.

As of now there is nothing that I have found wrong with them. I would gladly recommend these earbuds to music lovers of all genres because it will undoubtedly enhance your listening experience and you will have no regrets.

I got these headphones when they were on sale and I am very pleased with them. They take about a day and a half to break in and sound good. They're comfortable and easy to move around in and sound really good. Only con is the quality of the materials feel cheap. The cord feels very fragile, like I'm going to break it with too much pressure trying to remove them from the jack. I make a great point to be extra careful with them. Other than that, they sounds great, look great, great all around headphones.

I got these for my wife, who listened to my Phiaton PS 210s, liked them, but agreed that we should get a pair with slightly more pronounced bass. These are the perfect choice. Not the longest cord, but that's not a show stopper. Highly recommend these.

Huh. Surprise! Phiaton is THE earphone producer to beat! There is some SERIOUSLY GOOD design and engineering going into Phaiton products, get 'em before some big outfit buys them out and undermines the quality!

I also own the PS 210 BTNC's for travel which are superb and to which I gave a five star review Phiaton PS 210 BTNC Bluetooth 3.0 Active Noise Cancelling Stereo Earphones with Mic. However, I also needed a pair of more comfortable 'phones for home use (I often listen via an old Motorola S705 class 1 BT receiver into which I plug head- or ear- phones, and class 1 lets me roam most of my house without loosing signal). For home, I did not want or need the noise cancelling feature of the PS 210 BTNC's, and I love the comfort of half in ear designs like these and the Sennheiser PMX line which I use for the gym (Sennheiser PMX 680 Sports Earbud Headphones), so I thought I'd give the PS 20's a try.

I'm a very discerning listener with decades of home and professional audio experience, even used to design and build my own speaker systems back in the day, but am not generally willing to sit still for long periods to listen, hence the compromise of my BT setup.

Regarding the PS 20's all I can say is WOW! Open, unstrained, balanced sound with some of the best reproduction of transients and vocal/string instrument presence I've ever heard! I gotta give these a listen on a some uncompressed material from a high quality source next! Bass is solid and super clean (no fakey boomy bass here) and I expect bass will improve a bit with further break-in.
