5.0 out of 5 stars An impressive catalog and history of a distinguished group, March 17, 2009
This review is from: The Philadelphia Ten: A Women's Artist Group 1917-1945 (Paperback)
An excellent introduction to probably the most significant group of women artists in the post-impressionist period. This is one of the few in-depth biographical sources in print for most of these painters and sculptors. The well-reproduced illustrations cover the paintings and sculptures that were part of a traveling exhibition from 1998. Despite the price, this should be considered an essential purchase for any art-lover, scholar, critic or artist interested in the 1920s and 30s post-impressionist movement in America.
