About the Author

Donna O'Keefe (Houseman) is book director and online services director of Linn's Stamp News, a division of Amos Press in Sidney, Ohio. Linn's Stamp News is the world's largest weekly newspaper for stamp collectors. She joined Amos Press in 1972 and was named international editor of Linn's Stamp News in 1978, responsible for coverage of worldwide new issues and stories regarding the stamp trade. In this capacity, she traveled to Great Britain, Ireland, Taiwan and throughout the U.S. to meet with postal authorities. She was promoted to senior editor in 1983. She wrote regular columns in Linn's, including Philatelic Gems columns, which were compiled into five best-selling books. These books tell the incredible stories behind the most valuable stamps in the world. Most of the stamps are great rarities, gems that are beyond the reach of all but the wealthiest of collectors. In 1987, O'Keefe was promoted to Linn's book director, responsible for creating, editing and marketing books on stamp collecting. Since 1996, she also has led Linn's online efforts, including the retail stamp database Zillions of Stamps, Linn's Stampsites.com and Linns.com.
