One of Domingo's best compilations, thanks to Giulini,

Placido Domingo has issued dozens of complations albums, but this one is special. It includes almost all of a classic live recital he gave at a gala for the Los Angeles Phil. under its then direcotr Carlo Maria Giulini in 1980. He was in his absolute prime then--can it really have been 25 years ago? The other conductors on this CD are Sinopoli, Abbado, and Karajan, so it's clear that DG wanted to show Domingo off in a platinum setting. Highly recommended.
