4.0 out of 5 stars Very good for the price!
I found it works really well, I had none of these non-stick coating problems. I have used mine a total of 9 tmies so far and it still works. I am not sure but maybe these are separate sets, but the 5 piece set I got that was free after rebate works great. I do notice you should dry it off right after you wash it. Maybe there is where the non-stick coating problem...

3.0 out of 5 stars Very good for the price (was free after rebate)
The bakeware seems very sturdy. I used it several times each (except the muffin pan), and liked the baking results.
The sides of the pans are rolled - it adds stability, but make sure you drain water from itafter washing, or you could get unexpected spill.
The non-stick coating is not very good quality - even soft plastic leaves marks on it.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good for the price but...., December 19, 2003

I got a set of these free after rebate(that did not include the two round bake pans). Now I understand why. These are a heavy duty pan set but like one other person wrote, beware of the rolled edge on the cookie sheet pan. Every time I pull this pan out of our dishwasher, a small steam of rust colored water dribbles out from the rolled edge. I still use the pans and they do the job, but you think the manufacturer would catch a problem like his and stop it from getting to the customer. I would be skeptical of buying future products from them without reading some very good reviews first.

For free it is doing pretty well. Made a cake the other day and it came right out. Like the fast that there are two cake pans in the set. So far so good.

4.0 out of 5 stars Like Simply Calphalon 5-Piece Baking Set ?, June 1, 2004
This review is from: Philippe Richard 5-Piece Deluxe Bakeware Set, Seville (Kitchen)
I bought this set along with what I thought was a higher priced and higher quality set, "Simply Calphalon 5-Piece Baking Set," for under $20. The Calphalon 5-Piece Baking Set sold for $30.

First let me say that the Philippe Richard 5-Piece Deluxe Bakeware Set, Seville, is claimed to be "heavy guage aluminum," with a dark silver non stick coating. In fact, it is not aluminum at all! It is heavy guage carbon steel. To go even further, I had a hard time telling the Philippe set from the "higher quality" Simply Calphalon set. Even the plastic protective bags were identically printed and sized. Both sets are also made in "China."

Close examination revealed that the coating on the Simply Calphalon is a bit darker and much more slick than the Philippe set. The Philippe coating has a roughness that I would expect to catch and hold food much more readily than the slicker coating on the Calphalon. Both sets, since they are virtually identical, have the annoying rolled edge that traps and holds water, contributing to potential rusting problems in the future. If you were looking for the "heavy guage" (and rustproof!) aluminum, as advertised, then you might be disappointed with the steel.

All in all, if the coating hold up, this product would be a worthy competitor to the more expensive, better baking, steel Calphalon product. I hope the coating holds up. I bought this set because of the round cake pans I use for deep dish pizza!

Aluminum or steel? Many prefer steel for baking. If this is your cup of tea, you will be pleasantly surprised to find this set to be a virtual twin of the more costly, higher quality Calphalon product. Maybe they are both made in the same "basement in China" after all.

I'm happy with the purchase.

I have ruined 5 muffin pans in the last 2 years....I ordered this because of the rebate, not expecting much since it was so very cheap!! I love them!! I don't like to bake, so I haven't yet used anything but the muffin pans, but all the pans look to be the same GREAT quality!! Thanks Amazon!!!

These are very heavy, sturdy pans. I am very pleased with mine. I'm being very careful not to scratch them because I like them so much. No SOS pads on these!

4.0 out of 5 stars A great set, August 19, 2003
By A Customer
This review is from: Philippe Richard 5-Piece Deluxe Bakeware Set, Seville (Kitchen)
At the begining I didn't expect much from this set from its price (less than 20). But when I got it, I found that this set looks pretty sturdy (although it's kind of heavy). This set seems to be working well too.

I am very impressed with the quality of this pan set.
Alot nicer than most of the stuff I've seen in the stores.
I'm glad I went ahead and ordered it.
I highly recommed it.
Plus received it in just a few days after ordering.
