I love the design, it's not just a square box, but ease of using sleep timer was clincher. Push of one button forwards it in 15 minute increments. I was wide awake by the time I programed my prior set's timer, an RCA.

The wake up timer is also easy to set. It does require a few steps though to initialy program but from then on it's one button too. You can wake to TV or 3 different alarms(rooster, xylophone or harp). It does not have a radio though as one reviewer states.

The nightlight is terrific, the two feet and clock have a cool neon glow. It too is set with push of one button. If you have it on, it will turn off automaticaly when you turn TV on.

The picture quality is fine, as it is for most TV's, and stereo sound is bonus for set this size. There are lot's of features to customize viewing.

Overall this is great small TV with some unique features and design and is worth the somewhat premium price.

I saw the commercial for this television on TV and fell in love with it! Once I received the television from Amazon I loved it even more. The lighted feet are a great night light feature and I also like the little clock on the front. They should make this TV in larger sizes, I would buy one for my family room!

Attractive and classy television with a clear picture and easy operation. The lighted feet and clock face are a nice touch. Has the neat feature of allowing you to set the alarm to wake up to any tv channel you set or to three different programmed sounds. Good sound quality with the speakers located on the front sides of the TV, it projects the sound around the room and towards the viewers unlike tvs that have the poorly designed speakers just on the sides. If looks matter to you buy this tv -it looks great. Not compromising performance for them here. Great for bedrooms.

This little "baby" is really a classic . The picture is unbelieveably "crisp", the size is just right for me when I want to alone and away from the 36" TV......Also the remote is simple and direct...click you're there . There's no "02"..."enter"....you just hit "2" and bing. Well I hope they sold many of these "babies"....cause they are super.Buy one you will love it.

I purchased this little set NEW, but at a discontinued price of $150, at a local Best Buy in the Fall of 2000. There were THREE boxes there at the time, and oh HOW I WISH I'd purchased all three: I had no way of knowing then, how happy the Somba would make me in the years to come. SEVEN years later, only my Apple iMac G5 rivals the Somba as my favored, smartest electronics purchase in almost twenty years: it never fails -- every night, I switch it on for a little late night TV watching and sigh with pleasure at the crisp, color-correct picture, flawless sound and, oh yes, LOVE the "night light' "feet" and the analog clock (I use the "rooster crow" as my wake-up sound)!
I am ever-always, now, on the lookout for another Somba, just so I can have it on hand for the future. My Somba is as perfect as it was the day I took it out of the box, but it would give me peace of mind to know I had another 'waiting in the wings', when the years ahead see my little Somba age and pass on...
It's a joy, never had a problem (and I use it AT LEAST ONCE every evening, sometimes during the day, up to three to five hours at a time), perfect for my bedroom, and my ONLY COMPLAINT is that I did not buy all three on the shelf when I had the chance...
Yes, it was a little expensive for an eccentric 13" TV -- but WORTH TEN TIMES the price tag (I've been through THREE computers in the same time span; wish Philips would put this same "Somba" quality into a PC!)...

I'd been eyeing this TV as a bedroom TV because of it's great looks. The light up "feet" and clock are eye catching but once I brought it home, I found that the clock didn't work. This item is now out of production so I couldn't find a replacement for it.

At just 2 years after purchase this TV stopped responding to the remote control. An authorized Philips service center informed me that the computer chips were cracked and would cost more to replace than the TV was worth; Philips said it was out of the 90 day warranty, so I would have to pay all costs. The TV is useless without the remote. Since this TV has never been dropped or damaged, the defective chips must have been there since the beginning and deteriorated with use over time. I would not buy another Philips product.

Behalf of the design - which really is cute - I love the integrated alarm clock. You can choose between radio, television and three different alarm tunes.
