2.0 out of 5 stars I Just Recently Replaced This One Long Before Its Due Date, July 12, 2008

I was really happy with this TV when I fought it about four years ago. The only problem I had with it for a while was a couple of green pixels in a not too noticeable place. However, with time thepicture kept getting darker and darker. There are ambiance settings but I kept having to adjust the over all brightness-- a lot. Then I had an adapter problem and had to deal with Philips customer service. At that point Philips pretty much lost me as a customer.

There are some companies with excellent customer service-- JVC is one. I had a problem, they fixed it. With Philips though, I had a problem and they irritated me before we were able to resolve it. I wasn't even asking for warranty service. I just needed a part. The person talking to me sent me the wrong part-- some my fault, I knew her English wasn't good and should have confirmed using other words. I called and talked to someone else who found the right part for me right away. Return the first part? I could, with a 15% restocking fee. I fumed and wrote an annoyed email. No response. Meanwhile the metal table top stand broke. Really, the metal just cracked and one side fell off. About that time I grabbed my head with both hands and gave up.

I bought a Sylvania LC195SL8 19-Inch 720p LCD HDTV which I am liking very well. Of course modern day Sylvania customer service and I have not met yet either.
