The feature-packed Philips 19PS40C 19-inch color television features a super-sharp picture, theaterlike sound, and the multifaceted AutoPak, which consists of AutoPicture, AutoSound Plus, AutoMute, and AutoLock, for enhanced ease of use and viewing experience.

Video Features
This television offers you a 19-inch black matrix picture tube for increased black resolution (as opposed to dark gray), which also enhances overall picture quality and depth. Additionally, Video DNR (dynamic noise reduction) provides a clearer, less grainy picture--less affected by electronic interference. The Philips AutoPicture feature can also be used to instantly optimize brightness, contrast, color, tint, and sharpness settings to get the enhanced picture quality needed for video games, sports, and movies, or to overcome weak signals. The set also features an interesting three-position color temperature device for customizing a viewer's flesh-tone preferences in the picture, with cool, normal, and warm settings.

Audio Features
Incredible Surround, a sound technology that replicates a movie-theaterlike audio experience with only two speakers, makes this set's 3-inch-round, full-range stereo speakers effective for multiaudio channel DVDs without an elaborate home theater system. There's also Auto Sound Plus, four factory presets of optimized EQ levels for movies, music, voice, and personal, combining the set's built-in "ultra" bass, treble, and automatic volume-leveling abilities. Additionally, its AutoMute feature automatically activates closed-captioning when the MUTE button is pressed.

Other Features
Among the many other features in this set are the QuadraSurf total remote control and onscreen clock with sleep timer and alarm timer. The sleep timer automatically turns the television off at a preset time of up to 240 minutes, programmable in 15-minute increments. Conversely, its alarm timer automatically turns on the TV to a preselected channel, at a preset time of up to 24 hours from the time it was set. The set also features 181-channel capability and front A/V inputs for easy connection to camcorders, headphones, game systems, and other video equipment. Its AutoLock feature uses V-chip technology to protect young viewers from adult programming based on the Motion Picture Association of America and network television rating systems. A headphone jack is included.

This 19" TV has some great features that other small screen TVs just don't have. The automatic sound leveler helps with those loud commercials. It also adjusts the picture depending on the type of program you are watching. The remote control is easy to use too.

I really enjoy this TV. I connected my PC speakers to the front and the sound is great. The picture is really nice and pleasant. I hooked up my DVD player to this TV and the picture was awesome. I recommend however that you get a bigger TV if you want to play DVD's. (For obvious reasons)Its a very good value.
