I'd been holding off on buying a second television set until I felt the technology I wanted had become a bit less expensive. What a pleasure it was to find a television set that not only met this criteria but offered better than expected picture and sound.

This set sounds and looks great. I easily hooked it up to a three speaker system and have been enjoying dvds, cds, etc. Again, this is a great second television; I highly recommend this product.

We purchased this TV at a department store, not at Amazon. Loved it...GREAT picture,etc. However, after about 6-8 months, the DVD players skips too much to watch DVDs anymore and the TV turns itself off when you turn it on - you have to hit 'on' twice. After talking to Philips, it does have a year free parts replacement, but we'll have to pay for someone to come out and look at it (or haul it down the stairs and into a store). I guess were lucky we have an extra DVD player in the house!

I received my Philips 20" TV as a service award from work. My kids enjoyed watching DVD movies on it for about one month. We also enjoyed listening to CDs. Now, after only one month of using, the DVD no longer works and I have to haul it to a service center for repair! :-(

I own 2 of these machines and for the price of $300 they offer excellent picture and sound quality. In addition, though many have complained about the DVD I think it is very decent and complements the rest of the machine very well. Philips tv's have unbeatable durability, as many others have said and both my machines are still going strong since last year. I definitely recommend this Philips machine to people looking for reasonably priced flat-screen and widescreen TV, that occasionally like to watch DVDs.

Bought for daghter. 3 months later DVD player doesn't work. Phillips service center is terrible!

I'v only had this YV for about a week but I'm veary happy I got it. the reason I got this one is because Philips TVs last along time and there always ahead of the game with there tecnology.my other set is made by philips,still going strong and I hade it six years wihtout one problem.
