5.0 out of 5 stars great hd picture and aspect ratio options
well you won't be able to get one of these anymore now. i got mine 6 years ago in 2005, and 6 years later the hd picture is still sharp and clear and bright.

1.0 out of 5 stars BAD Purchase
This TV is going back to the store tonight. The picture quality has irked me over the last few days. The TV handles shadows badly - I just watched "Lost In Translation", which is dark and shadowy throughout most of the movie, and the quality was atrocious. This TV is going back to the store tonight. The picture quality has irked me over the last few days. The TV handles shadows badly - I just watched "Lost In Translation", which is dark and shadowy throughout most of the movie, and the quality was atrocious. Also, if there is a lot of motion the screen can hurt your eyes - it pixelizes and becomes quite "crunchy" looking. I have not been happy with this TV since I bought it 5 days ago.

The real kicker came tonight in the middle of the movie. The TV made a popping sound and shut off. When I turned it back on the picture had changed. The set seems to have lost its depth in the blacks. I'm not exactly sure what happened - the guy at the store suggested a power surge? Maybe so, but none of the other components pulgged into the strip were affected, and I've never had this happen with a TV in this home in the 5 years that I've lived here.

I have no information about HDTV reception as it is being hooked up tomorrow. Tonight it's back to the store for this TV and on to another brand. I don't trust it.
