This flat-screen set uses Philips's Real Flat technology, which not only looks cool compared to a conventional, bulbous screen, but also provides a very high-quality picture, partly because the screen itself simply reduces reflected ambient light. Additionally, the set's Black Matrix High Contrast Tube improves contrast by literally depositing carbon (this is inside the set, of course) on the screen between the phosphor dots. The result is a richer picture with better black tones and less picture washout. The 27RF70S also features a comb filter, which enhances resolution by removing the blurred edges between colors and reducing dot crawl, and comes with picture-in-picture, which allows you to monitor one show while watching another. An M Link remote control system is also included.

If you want a great television with a great picture and great features but do not want to spend a lot of money, then this is the one to get. You get a flat screen that is bright and clear for hundreds less. Lots of inputs allow you to hook up many devices. The M-link feature lets you program virtually all types of remotes into one convenient remote.

I'm very happy with the Phillips, I oscillated between that and several other flat screens, but I enjoy the features, the layout and design and the instructions are pretty straightforward.

Great picture,good sound quality from stereo speakers built in and it also has an M-link device that lets you hook up other devices and use your Phillips tv remote as a master.
I even managed to get the close caption to work in English on a DVD that was in a foreign language. I had the abiltiy to turn the captioning on and off which I liked. I'm not sure if this translation feature, was just for that DVD or if it will work with others. I'll update this to let you know. But all in all. Good value for the money. No regrets!

Just got this tv and so far I love it. The picture is beautiful and really crisp. Remote control is easy to use.
