Ordered my Philips from Amazon this Monday, received it on Tuesday. First, the box packaging is rather large for being 28". Once I opened it, it contains cables for pretty much every connection available on this monitor. I quickly connected it to my computer, sporting crossfired AMD R280x and 7970. The R280x was connected with the included display port 1.2 cable. It appeared to have 3840x2160p but I could definitely fill the lag, similar to 30Hz. I used the menu buttons on the bottom left right of the monitor, which are touch sensors rather than an actual button, and re-adjusted the display port connection from 1.1 to 1.2, since 1.1 limits the refresh rate for 2160p at 30Hz. Once I did this change, I went back to AMD Catalyst Control Center (14.6), and changed the refresh rate from 30 to 60Hz. After that, 0 lag, distortion, screen tearing or any of the sort as seen with some other 4k monitors available for the moment. Specifically for AMD users.

It looks beautiful, and its great for gaming. Def. the best monitor I've had for gaming in terms of responsiveness and color reproduction (it is not IPS, but still does a rather similar job!)

If anyone has any questions, feel free to leave them below. Once I feel more related to the monitor and its capacities as I use it, I can provide any further information!

Update September 29, 2014

Hi everyone, as of now I have around 3 months of experience with the monitor and I'd like to do a more complete review of the different features. I haven't used PiP or PbP modes, so I'll focus on the 3840x2160p experience at 60Hz with various applications, games and software.

VIDEO:

The monitor is capable to produce an image of 3840x2160 at 60Hz.

For the price for a 4k monitor, this is excellent value and performance. Change the display port setting from 1.1 to 1.2, then you can get 4K@60hz. Pictures front view is spectacular. I mainly got it for photo, but occasionally use for games. Angular view change color and a lot as expected from a TN screen (as opposed to IPS or PLS screen.).

Nice feature is that it does have speakers for HDMI and DisplayPort Audio. I'm using the XFX R9 290x which works just fine for 4K@60hz.

Strange thing. There is a visible middle line (that people have written about in reviews) that I've seen at enhanced setting at 4k@30 but this completely disappears at 4K@60.

But for $600, I think this was well worth the price at this time.

The vertical rotation feature is nice as well as the height adjustment. Which is main reason I went for this over samsung 4k TN monitor at similar price.

When you type fast, the monitor wiggles (off the stand) which is slightly annoying but for this price and performance, I can live with that.

For anyone looking for 4k monitor, make sure it can handle 60hz. 30 hz is not recommended. You mouse and everything the screen will lag and will drive you crazy and regret the purchase. Make sure it can do 60 hz refresh rate.

I ordered this monitor towards the end of June and I received it on July 8.

There were a few issues during the shipping process such as the outside Amazon box was slightly punctured during the shipping, but not enough to go and damage the box containing the monitor. The box containing the actual monitor had its own problems though; it was soaked at the bottom right corner from sitting in a puddle. The outside box had no visible water marks on it though. Luckily the styrofoam protected the monitor from any water from possibly damaging it.

Now onto the monitor set up. When I was trying to install the base to the monitor, the screw at the bottom was stuck in a position that I could not screw or unscrew it. It took a good 15 minutes of wiggling it around and using some pliers to get it in the correct spot. I didn't remove any stars from the review because of this since it was a very minor issue.

Once I got this monitor fully set up I hooked it up to my system. I don't have a system capable of doing 4k @ 60Hz yet, but I was impressed that my Early 2011 Macbook Pro 10.9.4 (dedicated Radeon 6750M) was able to power up this monitor using DP at 3840x2160 @ 30Hz. I didn't have a Mini-DP to DP cable handy so I had to buy a Mini-DP to DP converter from my local tech store to connect to my MBP. Once I did that and attached the provided display port cable to the converter, it worked flawlessly under the DP 1.1 setting at 3840x2160 @ 30Hz on my Early 2011 MBP (though there is no setting for scaling with this MBP even though I am running 10.9.4). The picture quality is amazing on this monitor, and I was lucky to not have any dead pixels. Though you can really notice the monitor having somewhat of a delay since it is only at 30Hz.

Background - I purchased a MacBook Pro with Retina display to replace my iMac that I had been using for the past five years. With the amount of traveling that I have been doing, I felt the portability of the laptop would let me do my photo editing on the road. My wife, after looking at the display size, suggested that I get a 4K monitor for home use so that I would have a large screen to compliment the portability.

Research - We went to the local big box, but they only had one monitor and it had limited connections (Two HDMI). We looked at several monitors online and this one caught my eye for price, features and connections. My one worry was several reviews that complained of a line down the middle of the screen (I will tell you now that I have not seen the line after several weeks of use and trying everything I can to produce the line.). With Amazon's return policy, I decided to give this one a try.

Installation / Out of the Box - The monitor arrived on time and in perfect condition. The box contains almost every connection you will need with the exception of he USB 3.0 cable. Set-up was fast and easy, and the base installed without tools. The cables route through an in-stand cable management, but that is pretty limited. Even with a wire wrap, I found that the HDMI and the power cable still can be seen below the monitor. (-1/4 Star).

Features - The monitor can connect to almost every CPU connection you can think. For my use, the HDMI cable produced the highest resolution available. The rotate feature works, but of course you will need to leave slack in the cables for the rotation. I also found that you had to tilt the monitor in order to rotate to the vertical without striking the base plate (-1/4 Star).
