I had owned this set for just under eighteen months when it quit working. It was not under warranty but I called Philips Customer Service to locate an authorized repair center; they directed me to a local repair shop. The tech tested the set and called me to say that the part needed was not available and asked me to call Philips to see if I could get any action from them that he couldn't get.

A call to Philips got me the same response, the part is not available and will never be available. I asked to speak to someone else and was transferred to a lady at customer service who also informed me that the part was not available and she was very sorry but there was nothing anyone could do because the set is out of warranty. When I asked to speak to someone else she said there was no one else. When I asked to speak to her supervisor she claimed she had no supervisor. I believe that her job is solely to deflect these calls. I now have a $4000 door stop and Philips got their money so they don't care.

If you search the web you will find a lot of people with similar problems with Philips products. You can get larger, higher quality plasmas for less money. Stay away from this one.
