1080p Resolution Supports the Latest Media

The Philips 40-Inch 1080p LCD HDTV supports 1080p signals, so you'll be able to enjoy Blu-ray and high-definition games. The TV also features signal processing, which helps keep image quality pristine. The result is a crisp, high-resolution image that is free of pixel gaps, flickers, and other video artifacts.

Exceptional Image Quality with Any Input

The HDTV offers exceptional high-definition video, progressively scanning images to bring you a smooth, flicker-free picture. It uses Pixel Plus HD technology to process each incoming pixel before it reaches your screen, ensuring exceptional image quality regardless of what input you are using. You'll see improved detail, brighter contrast, and more vivid color--even when using older, standard-definition devices.

Audio Technology Delivers Immersive Surround Sound

The HDTV is equipped with Incredible Surround, an audio technology that expands your home theater's soundstage. Incredible Surround uses phase shifting to optimize the balance of sound between channels, resulting in an immersive audio experience. The TV also integrates a Dolby Digital output so you can connect your home theater system, giving you additional audio options.

Connect DVD Players, Computers, USB Drives, and More

You can quickly and easily connect a cable or satellite box, camcorder, game console, Blu-ray disc player, PC, and more with the HDTV's multiple inputs. Three HDMI inputs--two on the back and one on the side--with Philips' EasyLink feature let you control connected devices with the same remote control as the TV. And, all you need to connect your PC is a VGA cable.

You can also access pictures and music (JPEG and MP3 formats) from most USB devices, thanks to a USB input on the side of the TV. The HDTV provides an on-screen content browser so it's easy to view images and listen to music.

Energy-Efficient Features Reduce Power Consumption

The HDTV is Energy Star certified. The TV's circuitry dramatically reduces power consumption, so the device uses less than 1 watt of power while in standby mode.

Product and Warranty Information

The Philips 40-Inch 1080p LCD HDTV measures 25.63-by-38.9-by-9.06-inches (H x W x D) including the stand and is backed by a manufacturer's one-year limited warranty.

I love this TV, the picture is beautiful and it is the right size for me and my family. Only thing I wish is that it played movies from a flash drive but other than that it is a great addition to your family area.

So far so good with this TV. I can't complain about anything other than the screen seems to get darker all of a sudden but that could just be me. It has great quality picture. The volume can be turned up very loud which is a plus for me since my last TV could be all the way up and still hard to hear. The audio quality isn't the best, but it isn't terrible. Overall, I am very happy. Great gaming and movie watching TV with lots of options.

This TV is great for the $412 I paid for it on Amazon. The picture and sound are good but if you hook up a DVD recorder to record a program a nuisance warning pops up for about 10 seconds that the TV can't find the HDCP signal. I googled it and it seems Intel put a chip in the TV to restrict recording in High Definition.

Purchased on Woot. I would give it four stars if the audio was just slightly better. The remote is also ugly, if you will allow for nitpicking.

Otherwise, screen quality is very good, menus are neat, and I am overall happy. I am actually kinda-sorta happy that the audio is medicore because now I have an excuse to buy a soundbar (in an apartment so a full surround sound would be overkill and make my neighbors hate me)

I am a big fan of Philips brand appliances and this television has not disappointed! It has a GREAT picture for being just 60Hz, far away scenes can appear a tad grainy at times but close ups are extremely CLEAR, true 1080p HD quality and the overall picture quality in general is top notch! The picture quality is even great if your watching tv from the side! This tv also shines when watching blu-ray movies from it with the 3 HDMI outlets it has, it also has a USB outlet if you want to attach your laptop to it. If you are a budget minded person like me and ditched cable for netflix, you will also enjoy decent (free) digital tv if you add a 10.00 Philips rabbit ears antenna (also available at amazon/Walmart) when you use the auto programming option. The sound is good and loud for me, I usually have it no higher then 40 out of 100 which is fairly loud. I don't know why people need to have such loud volume? Of course I live in a tiny apartment by myself so maybe that's why I don't need it too loud lol. This tv is also an Energy Star rated appliance in case your wondering too. Like I said this tv is still good as new and it's going on 2 years and I am very satisfied and haven't had any problems what so ever with it!

Great purchase! Crisp picture, good sound, and easy to use menu. I shopped around and know that Philips is a good brand. I also like the PC input option. I can use it as a monitor if I want.

I have no complaints about this TV. Good picture quality, it has a HDMI port on the side to hook up my Roku, and a great price.

We ordered this TV on Dec 2nd 2012 and it broke 4 months ago. We have been calling for the Manufacturer’s Warranty since then and there has still been no answer. They asked us for the original receipt. We sent it to them, and still, after many long phone calls, they have not done anything about it. I would suggest, for anyone buying a Philips product, to be very careful, as they do not stand by their products.
We even bought the square trade warranty from Amazon, and they haven’t even taken care of the issue either, saying that it is the manufacturer’s responsibility.
