Works with the cheap dimmer that came with the lamp, although the dimmer does cause a very slight hum.
With a 100W incandescent bulb you can feel the heat emanating from quite a distance and at 2 inches away your brain is telling you "hey that's really hot don't get any closer."
With this Phillips bulb you don't feel any heat at all, even at just 1 inch away. Even though this bulb emanates almost no heat it does get quite hot to touch. After being left on for a while you can only touch the bulb for a few seconds before your hand starts to burn.
Over all this bulb is amazing and worth the price. I will start replacing more bulbs in my house once the price drops.

Of the half dozen or so LED bulbs that I've tried over the last couple of years, this one comes closest to matching the quality of incandescent light. Read morePublished on December 28, 2013 by Ski Addict
These lights are truly amazing. They are so much brighter than the 60 watt they replaced. I can't believe that an LED will probably last 20-23 years of average use. Read morePublished on December 17, 2013 by Victoria H. Mills
The quality of light is fantastic! The output matches a 100 watt incandescent in both color and intensity. Read morePublished on December 14, 2013 by George Leeper
The light is bright and it works perfectly on my front porch. I would recommend this light to anyone who wants a high output LED.Published on December 11, 2013 by Justin Lee
I used this to replace a 200 watt incandescent bulb in an old fashioned type reading lamp with shade. I feel very little, if any difference, in the quality of light. Read morePublished on December 3, 2013 by miacid
