5.0 out of 5 stars I love it!
I found this TV when it was released from information about the electronics show (Jan 2008, released to public March 2008). I waited for it to be on the market a while and make sure there weren't horrible reviews out there on it since it is only offered in online venues. Then I purchased it in November.

I am thrilled with it. I went from ancient technology...

1.0 out of 5 stars Terrible USB Support, customer service
Don't put any stock in the specs. First, the TV's slideshow feature DOES NOT support .alb files, even though it clearly states so in every spec sheet I have ever read, and it says explicitly so in the manual. The email and telephone customer support is terrible - they have no idea what you are talking about when you call. The email support does not allow you to respond to...

5.0 out of 5 stars I love it!, January 3, 2009
This review is from: Philips 42PFL5603D/F7 42-Inch 1920 x 1080p LCD HDTV (Black) (Electronics)
I found this TV when it was released from information about the electronics show (Jan 2008, released to public March 2008). I waited for it to be on the market a while and make sure there weren't horrible reviews out there on it since it is only offered in online venues. Then I purchased it in November.

I am thrilled with it. I went from ancient technology to a 42-inch flat screen but it is great. The clarity is amazing. Just as I had read previous to buying it, the sound is a little weak but other than that a great television. There are plenty of connections for other media (DVD, VCR, Cameras, etc.) and the picture is wonderful.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best LCD Picture yet, March 7, 2009
This review is from: Philips 42PFL5603D/F7 42-Inch 1920 x 1080p LCD HDTV (Black) (Electronics)
I Purchased this TV two months ago. The Picture quality is far better than any of the LCD televisions I have viewed to date. I use this for my PC, PS3, and HDTV. Everything about this TV is beautiful. I Chose this over a Sony Bravia that was sitting right next to it. The Price on the Phillips was lower, and the picture was more clear and crisp. I recommend this Television for anyone that is looking for a great gaming/Blu-Ray Viewer.

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Philips 42PFL5603D/F7 42-Inch 1920 x 1080p LCD HDTV (Black) (Electronics)
This is a great TV at a great price! The picture is crisp and the non-glare finish on the screen is great for rooms that have a lot of windows.

1.0 out of 5 stars Terrible USB Support, customer service, February 13, 2009
This review is from: Philips 42PFL5603D/F7 42-Inch 1920 x 1080p LCD HDTV (Black) (Electronics)
The email support does not allow you to respond to answers they give you (sent from an unattended email address). Finally, if you want to use this TV to do business presentations or show slidshows from a USB camera, drive, or flash device, you CANNOT SORT THE IMAGES. The TV does not sort by name, number, date, or anything that makes logical sense.

I happen to have discovered how the sorting is done, and was able to fix the issue myself with a third-party app that runs on Windows (it's easier in Linux). However, I am not giving up the secret because Philips does not deserve this service from me. The infuriated me so badly, I will never buy another Philips product.

Otherwise, the TV has mediocre performance, poor menus, and a bad remote.

DO NOT BUY THIS TV!
