I bought this T.V. from Wal-mart and was the same purchase price as amazon. When I got the T.V. home I hung it on the wall and kept my devices 24" away from T.V. and had all devices connected properly. The first two days we were using the T.V. in moderate use watching movies and playing video games. The third day we were just sitting on the couch watching a movie and the T.V. screen froze and the sound played for a couple of seconds then there were two loud pops, Then the T.V. shut off and the PHILIPS logo appeared and the T.V. starting playing like nothing happened. I went up to the T.V. and looked it over it did not feel hot or smell burnt or anything so I thought maybe it was a glitch or some thing. It kept doing it so I returned it to Wal-mart and Bought a different model T.V.

While I was using the T.V. I thought it was a good set and had a clear picture there was no real long lag periods between menu switching. The game setting are typical for a low end 1080P T.V. The smart menu is really typical not a lot to choose from what they advertise is about it plus a couple. The T.V. can pick up a DLNA or shared folder from your computer but it only plays mpeg4 h264 video formats from what I was trying to get to work (AVI MKV and MPEG4) Do Not Play. I wouldn't go out of my way to recommend this T.V. to anyone unless they want a plan simple smart T.V.

So its been about 2 months since I got the TV. I love the fact that I can project anything on my laptop to my tv wirelessly. There are hardly any apps available but I'd rather have the wireless streaming capability over any number of apps.

The sound is quite good. I'm not really an audiophile though. But it does get nice and loud and seems to have good bass.

The picture is really nice and crisp. Again, I'm not really an expert but I think most people would be satisfied. It seems to look better than the Vizio's and Elements I see displayed in electronic shops. It seems to look just as nice as the samsungs I see.

However, it's a bit disappointing that my laptop, a core 2 duo with Intel HD Graphics that I bought in 2009, barely has enough processing power to stream SD. Even more disappointing is that the only option to stream SD is 800x600 which doesn't quite fit the shape of the tv. It would have fit most TVs much better if it was something like 720x480. The automatic option that chooses the resolution that fits your processing power doesn't seem to work well because I often got the error "Your PC is overloded" if I use that option. Despite my disappointments, I can't fully place the blame on my TV since my laptop's technology is already 5 years old.

Another problem that I encountered is a slightly loose plastic covering at the base near the speakers. This slightly loose cover results into an occasional load vibrating sound especially when using the bass of the TV speakers. I fixed this by slipping a thick piece of paper in the gap. I suggest filling that gap before setup to save you the time of having to do it later since its difficult to fill that gap once its been setup.

I knew I wanted a TV that was less than 50 inches (based on the size of my living room), LED, 1080p, and it had to be SMART -- built in wi-fi, etc.

After lots of searching, reviewing, etc, I finally puller the trigger on this one and I'm still giddy -- this TV is a STEAL.

The picture is PERFECT. No pixalation whatsoever from any distance; perfect depth, color, crispness, everything. The color and the contrast is awesome, the sound and the speakers are awesome. Super easy to set up -- upon turning on, the TV walks you through your picture preferences, sound preferences, and WiFi connection.

I love this thing, and I truly feel bad for anyone who has paid $800-$900 for a decent TV that you can get for $600 or less.

Rock solid.
