5.0 out of 5 stars Great Big Screen For The Money
I recently purchased the television and have been very pleased by its performance. A direct cable connection works fine but the picture suffers. A progressive scan DVD works good and brings in a nice and sharp 480i picture. However, this philips shines when connected to an High Def. box. The picture is so real i feel like im looking out my window at action in the yard. My...

Where do I start! I bought this T.V. in december of 2003 for a family christmas present and it lasted 2 weeks before I lost the picture. I called the store and they replaced the t.v. which I thought was very nice but the screen had numerous scratches right out of the box. The manager saw them and said he would fax the order to get it fixed. A month later, a repairperson came to my house but he had the part to fix the picture and not the scratches. He had no knowledge of the scratches but he would place the order to get it fixed.
April rolled around and I lost the picture again on the new tv. I was a little discouraged considering this was not some 100.00 t.v. from Walmart, I paid a lot money for a television that was just not lasting, this was two t.v.'s in four months. I called Phillip's, thankfully I still had a warranty, but I found out they had closed there repair centers. They had a local repair shop come get the t.v. and I asked the Phillips rep. if they got the new screen yet. Now comes the battle!!!
Phillips said they would repair the t.v. but not the screen because they said they never recieved the order. The screens were only on warranty for 30 days and it was 3 months later. I explained to the phillips repair rep. that the store I bought it from faxed the order the same day. She told me that they closed their centers, here in florida, around that time so they do not have that information. Somehow this is my fault and I was told to call there customer service line. I called the number and I was told it was not their problem. I asked to speak to a supervisor, they refused to do it, then I asked for the number to Phillips headquarters which I found out does not exist but I could write a letter to them(still have not heard back from them) keep in mind this is the CUSTOMER SERVICE line. The customer service is based out of the carribean somewhere, I paid a couple thousand dollars for a t.v., had 2 different t.v.'s that could not last 5 months and Phillip's refused to help me.
The end result was I got the t.v. back a month and a half later, turns out it was a manufactures defect, the screen was fixed by the store that I bought the t.v. from because they could not get to Phillips either. It was the most frustrating time I have ever had and now I am going to purchase the extended warranty as I do not trust this t.v.
It is a great t.v. when it works, but I also have a Toshiba big screen that is not HDTV and in four years time I have never had a problem. So in closing I should caution"BUYER BEWARE"

A progressive scan DVD works good and brings in a nice and sharp 480i picture. However, this philips shines when connected to an High Def. box. The picture is so real i feel like im looking out my window at action in the yard. My small son 3 years old went over to the tv trying to touch the Moose on the screen as it looked real. Its a great tv and the best per inch buy out there right now. I also own a sony 50" lcd HDTV and belive it or not the philips working from an HD box or Progressive scan dvd player beats the sony with a similar hook up. Wish i had found this first and saved the 3,400$ for the sony LCD, ive been watching this while the sony sits turned off in the corner.....

I saw the same TV at Best Buy and was happy when I came to Amazon and could buy it for over $600 less.

We are very happy with the size and the value! It is very fun watching DVD's on and the picture looks great!

5.0 out of 5 stars Hands-down, the greatest!, March 5, 2004
By A Customer
This review is from: Philips 60PW9363 60-Inch Widescreen HDTV-Ready Projection TV (Electronics)
I had the unique (yet torturous) pleasure of accompianing my friend to Best Buy where he purchased this tv about a year ago. I have used it countless times since then, and in my opinion it is the finest non-plasma television I have seen.

The screen is absolutely humungous--you don't know 60 inches until you've seen it in person! The tiny picture here does not do justice to this behemoth.

I hope to purchase this television for myself later this year, and I know I will enjoy it as much as I did the first time I saw it in the store. I just hope it will fit through my door!

5.0 out of 5 stars I've had it since 2003 and it's now 2011, February 12, 2011
This review is from: Philips 60PW9363 60-Inch Widescreen HDTV-Ready Projection TV (Electronics)
I've had this since 2003 and it's now 2011 and my tv is still going!!!!! My image has gone dark as of lately (meaning that if the scenes are dark, you can't really see anything unless there is light in it, light scenes are still great) After all these years, I think it's finally time to change the bulb . . . . pretty good I would say!!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Philips big screen, November 28, 2008
This review is from: Philips 60PW9363 60-Inch Widescreen HDTV-Ready Projection TV (Electronics)
My wife bought this t.v for me almost 4 years ago and never had any problems out of it. It is the best inch per price out there and it will out perform most LCD t.v's out there. I also have a 47 in plasma and when you have the HDMI hooked up to this t.v the picture quality is almost exact. I love this t.v, philips customer service is another thing all together but you can find parts on the right website if you know what your looking for, or know a good repair man. If you have problems with this t.v

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent TV - Great Picture!, October 22, 2008
This review is from: Philips 60PW9363 60-Inch Widescreen HDTV-Ready Projection TV (Electronics)
I have owned this TV for 3 and a half years. It has been great. Absolutely no problems! The only thing I would change is to have an HDMI input (it has a DVI input instead). But, I ended up finding a cable that has HDMI on one end and DVI on the other - so problem solved! The picture is fabulous! Highly recommend.
