my son was a very fussy bottle eater. He would never finish his bottle until I switched to a faster flow nipple. Now he finishes his bottle and is a much happier eater. He became frustrated that the milk wasn't coming out fast enough for him and with the faster flow it was perfect. He is much more content after a feeding and more relaxed. Now we are both much happier and look forward to each feeding.

Do yourself a favor and save some money. If your old nipples don't seem to have enough flow for your baby anymore, get a needle and make a few more holes into it. If still not enough, make a few more OR make a couple with a hot needle. That is all it takes.

Baby is happy, eating well. What better praise for a bottle nipple can be given? Note: Fast flow is for age six months and up, the slow/medium flow nipples by Avent are just as good (just for younger babies)

I love Avent because their wide bottles are okay for breastfed babies. My baby is mixed fed, breastfed after office hours and formula fed when I'm at work. Anyways, the nipples are well made but I made the mistake of getting the fast flow one for my 6 month old, well, it is FAST and she had a hard time keeping up with the flow so I your baby is breast/mixed fed, use the fast flow around 1 year of age.

I use the Philip Avent feeding system (bottle, nipple, steam sterilizer) and everything worked well. My daughter did not experience any colic so I guess the so-called colic reducing features do work. We used size 1, 2 and 3 nipples and did not have any problems with them. I didn't switch to size 4 until she is 7 months old, and we started having problems with major spit-ups and nipples collapsing during feeding, which is not suppose to happen. I was not sure if the flow is too fast for her or we got nipples that are defected. I thought size 4 should be ok for her since it's intended for infants 6 months+, but after talking to the nurse at our pediatrician's office, we decided to switch back to size 3 nipple. It's been a week and she did not have any more spit-ups. I don't know if this is enough to come to any kind of conclusion on the product or it's simply that my daugher is going through a phase. So, although I am pleased with the Philip Avent products overall, my experience with the size 4 nipple has not been great.

these are nipples... as advertised in size. nothing more to say.. the "BPA free" is a bit of BS because soft plastic like this rarely has BPA (it's hard, clear, plastic that you have to watch for)...

I am the Grandmother to 2 infants and 1 toddler. One of the infants lives in our household and I can state that Avent is at the top of my list when it comes to bottles and nipples. No excess gas is produced, no bags to fuss with and have to toss away, clean up is simple just as mixing the formula is simple. No extra parts to have to put inside the bottle and try to remember if you are supposed to boil them or just wash them. I love Avent.

This was a very useful product for our son when we had to start thickening his formula with rice cereal. Hard to find in stores!

My son is 10.5 months and was on the variable flow nipple from about 6-10 months old so we could add a little rice cereal for his "reflux" (which turned out to be food allergies). At about 9 months (with no rice cereal) he started collapsing the variable speed nips. On a frustrated whim, I ordered the fast flow ones. Although they were rated for 6 months, I had to try something. They are GREAT! He's used them for about 2 weeks and he no longer collapses the nips and eats at a better speed. Wish I'd thought of trying this sooner! (As a note: My only gripe is that we do have to line up the nipples properly or they leak. But I had done this with his size 1 and 2 nipples when he was smaller, so knew immediately how to correct this. So, I am still rating these 5 stars because they are serving my purpose.)
