The Philips AVENT Infant Starter Kit has everything you need to keep your baby fed and soothed. Each of the four BPA-free bottles in this kit features a clinically proven anti-colic valve for less air in a baby's tummy and a more comfortable feeding experience. Designed to grow with babies, this kit comes with nipples, a bottle-to-first-cup trainer, a milk powder dispenser that's great for traveling, a bottle-cleaning brush, and a newborn silicone pacifier.
The AVENT Infant Starter Kit comes with two 4-ounce bottles with slow-flow nipples and two 9-ounce bottles with newborn nipples. Made from BPA-free polypropylene (PP) materials for safe feeding, these bottles have a wide shape for fewer spills while filling and quick cleaning. Clear, easy-to-read measuring markers make for an accurate filling, even when you're running on less sleep.
AVENT nipples are soft and naturally shaped to promote proper latch-on. Their shape also makes it easier to transition back and forth from breast to bottle feeding.
The AVENT bottles feature an anti-colic valve in the nipple that flexes to let air into the bottle, not in a baby's tummy where it can lead to gas and other discomfort. This design is proven to reduce colic. A clinical trial showed that at two weeks of age, babies fed with the AVENT bottle were less likely to experience colic symptoms than babies fed with a traditional bottle.
The AVENT Infant Starter Kit is designed to grow with babies as they move from bottle to sippy cup. The entire Philips AVENT feeding line is interchangeable, so as babies' needs change it is easy to switch to nipples with faster flow rates. Once they're ready to move onto sippy cups, the bottle-to-first-cup trainer offers a nipple and soft spout for training, as well as easy-hold handles. You can also add the handles to a familiar bottle so babies can get used to more independent feeding.
For on-the-go feeding, this kit includes a sturdy plastic milk powder dispenser. The dispenser holds up to three pre-measured servings of milk powder/formula and has a stay-in-place lid for easy travel.
To help soothe babies between feedings, this kit comes with a newborn silicone pacifier. This orthodontic, flat, symmetrical nipple respects the natural development of babies' palate, teeth, and gums.
For fast cleanup, the kit comes with a bottle brush that reaches even hard-to-clean areas at the bottom and sides of the bottle.
Two 4-ounce bottles, two 9-ounce bottles, two slow flow nipples, two newborn nipples, bottle-to-first-cup trainer with removable handles and soft spout, milk powder dispenser with lid, pacifier, and cleaning brush.

Great Bottles,

My daughter (now 7 months old) has been using these bottles since she was born, and we've never had any problems with them. We've always washed them by hand, and have only had the occasional leaking issue, usually caused by the coupler being on too tight.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine™ Program (What's this?)
This is a really nice starter set for someone who plans to bottlefeed. The bottles are well-made and BPA free, and they don't leak. You also get a very nice brush (very soft, so it doesn't scratch the plastic), a snack/formula powder cup, a handle and top to transform the bottles into sippy cups later, and a pacifier. With their wide mouths, these bottles are easy to wash, and I also think a wider nipple helps prevent nipple confusion in breast-fed babies. (This is just anecdotal, but it's held true for me with my kids.) I wasn't wild about the pacifier, as it was a bit too heavy for my daughter to easily keep in her mouth; she seems to like the MAM Start Orthodontic Silicone Pacifier best. Then again, she's only 4 1/2 weeks old, so the same may not be true of an older baby!
However, I generally recommend that (at least for babies who are breastfeeding), you buy just one bottle at a time and see how your baby likes it, and then buy a set later if your baby is amenable, because two of my three have been very particular about what kind of bottles they'll take. My daughter (who has just started using a bottle) doesn't seem wild about the Avent bottles. She seems to much prefer the Playtex Drop-Ins. I don't know if she prefers the Playtex nipple (it wasn't interchangeable with the Avent bottles) or if she prefers something about the drop-in liner. Incidentally, if you have a non-Avent breast pump (like the Medela Pump in Style and store your milk in bottles, you'll have to pump into a different, narrow bottle and then transfer the milk into -these- bottles, or else purchase an adapter, like the Philips Avent Standard Breast Pump Conversion Kit.
