Pump More Milk More Quickly

The Twin Electric includes a first (control) pump and a second pump, allowing for single or double pumping. When the Twin Electric is fully assembled, the second pump will simultaneously mimic the speed and suction of the first. In fact, the Twin Electric is the only twin breast pump designed to maintain the same suction and control on both sides.

This unique twin-pump design offers an efficient, quick way to express breast milk. It has been shown to boost prolactin levels and stimulate milk production, making it a great solution for busy moms.

Soft Massage Cushions Comfortably Trigger Let-Down

The Twin Electric Breast Pump's two included massage cushions each feature five petals that flex in and out to gently massage your breast. The petals work together to mimic a baby's natural sucking action and trigger let-down. The soft massage cushions are comfortable to use on a daily basis and will help produce a fast, natural milk flow.

The Twin Electric Breast Pump can be used without the massage cushions to achieve maximum vacuum levels.

Electric Memory
Learns and continues your pumping rhythm.
Electric Memory Learns from You

You can precisely adjust the Twin Electric Breast Pump's speed, vacuum, and rhythm settings in an unlimited number of combinations and customize the breast pump to your needs. Just begin a comfortable pumping rhythm, press a button, and the Twin Electric automates it. The electronic memory learns and continues your preferences, giving you complete control over your comfort. This means pumping with the Twin Electric always feels natural and exactly right for you.

One-Touch Memory Control at Your Fingertips

Featuring a one-touch memory control button, the Twin Electric Breast Pump lets you stop, start, or adjust speed and suction levels without removing your hand from the pump. In fact, everything that controls the pump is right at your fingertips, so you won't have to worry about awkwardly reaching for buttons and potentially interrupting milk flow.

Pump, Store, and Feed with the Same Container

The Twin Electric lets you pump, store, and feed with the same container, preserving valuable nutrients that can get lost if breast milk is transferred. Two sealable 4-ounce breast-milk containers and two extra-soft Newborn Flow Nipples are included, so you'll have everything you need to get started.

Continue Breastfeeding, Even on the Go

Perfect for travel, the breast pump works with any standard, 100- to 240-volt outlet. It comes with a two-piece nipple travel pack and a microfiber travel bag, so you can give your baby all the benefits of breastfeeding, even when you're on the go.

All parts of the Philips AVENT Twin Electric Breast Pump are 100 percent BPA free. The breast pump is backed by a limited one-year warranty.

5.0 out of 5 stars Really good pump!, February 20, 2011
By
B. Cano (Santa Monica, CA) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
This review is from: Philips AVENT BPA Free Twin Electric Breast Pump, White (Baby Product)
I got this pump a few weeks before returning back to work. My best friend had her baby a month after me and she was able to get a Medela Lactina hospital grade pump for herself, unfortunately she was not able to breastfeed. She let me borrow her pump and I started pumping exclusively with the Lactina. I didn't want to take her pump to work (it's a rental, expensive to replace, and not easily carried) so I was in the market for a good work pump. I decided I would use the Lactina at home and buy another pump for myself. I naturally looked at the Medela Pump in Style, but the cost was pretty high, and I don't care what bag it comes in or what it looks like as long as there is a bag to transport the equipment. I read lots of reviews and based on my needs, and affordability i chose the Avent Phillips Twin Pump. This decision was not made lightly, in large part because I know this cannot be returned like you would a piece of clothing that does not fit. My decision in large part was based on Amazon reviews and other peoples experience with Phillips customer service. Fortunately I have not had any negative issues with this pump and am extremely pleased with the level of suction and ability to empty out my milk while at work. My pumping routine is pretty much using the Lactina in the morning before I go to work, then twice a day at work I use the Avent pump, then I get home and pump on the Lactina. The Avent pump helps me produce 5 oz. Bottles in one sitting, is not loud, and best of all has similar results to the Lactina. I have had this for over a month now and am so happy this worked out. If you want a pump with good suction similar to a hospital grade pump look no further. I love reading reviews but am guilty of not writing them, especially when I really like to base my purchases on them, so here is my small contribution because this really is a good pump!

5.0 out of 5 stars Pretty sure this is the Avent ISIS iQ Duo, just renamed, July 9, 2011
By
Jill B. Stark (Upstate New York) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Philips AVENT BPA Free Twin Electric Breast Pump, White (Baby Product)
When I received this pump (I didn't buy it from Amazon, but I did buy it brand new, unopened), the instruction manual and DVD that came with it said it was an Avent ISIS iQ Duo, which is a breast pump that is listed in Baby Bargains for $200-$300. However, the box did not match the manual or DVD cover and said it was the Philips AVENT BPA Free Twin Electric Breast Pump. However, after reading about and using this pump and then reading about the ISIS iQ, I am convinced that these are the same pump. This means that you're getting a professional grade, dual electric breast pump that Baby Bargains awards its highest rating (a grade of: A) for nearly half the retail price, but with all the extras that come with the other, more expensive brands (like Medela). I am not sure why Avent changed the name of this pump, but it has all the same features as the ISIS iQ (from the same pumping customization feature to all the same extras).

If you're in a hurry, here's a quick list of what I like about this pump after 2 months of every day use:

- Super fast: I can set this pump up and pump a 5.5-6.5oz bottle within 10 minutes, sometimes less. One of the other reviews made a really great observation: it's approximately 1oz per minute.

- No milk ever gets in the tubing or the motor: which means the resale value on this pump is high.

- Easy to clean: there are only four parts (per pump, not including the bottle) that require sanitizing and they assemble really easily.

- Comfortable to pump.

- Customizable pumping action: I can go faster to mimic my son's fast initial suckling to activate milk letdown and then settle into a stable, rhythmic pumping).

- I love that I pump directly into the bottle and don't have to switch storage containers.

- I feel like the value of the pump is great, especially when it costs about $75/month to rent a hospital grade pump.

- I love all all the extras:
* 2 4oz bottles and 2 adapter rings
* 2 lavender bags to keep/transport sanitized parts
* 2 bottle stand/funnel covers
* 2 thinsulate carriers (which can fit 2 4oz bottles each)
* 4 gel ice packs (2 gel packs equals 6 hours of cooling)
* 1 black carrying bag that holds the pump motor, parts, tubing AND the Thinsulate cases easily
* 2 disposable breast pads
* 3 spare parts
* 2 newborn nipple travel packs (with sealers and caps so you can keep the nipples sanitized)

Here's the more in depth review:

I've been using this pump every day for nearly two months and I couldn't be happier. But, if you're looking to save money, I suggest that before you buy a professional grade pump, that you try pumping on a manual pump first and see how it goes for you. My sister-in-law gave me her manual Avent Breast Pump and I pumped with that every day for a month before I decided to spend money on an electric pump. It was fortuitous that I ended up buying the same brand electric pump, so I was already familiar with all the parts that need to be washed and sanitized, so putting it together and using it the first time was a breeze; I recommend using a manual first simply to ensure that you like and/or can pump milk--it's best if you can borrow one or if someone you trust can give you their old one. Also, it helps if you can borrow the same brand manual pump as the electric you have your eye on, as they often have the same amount of parts to clean, that way you know what you'll be getting yourself into before spending $150+ on a pump.

I am a grad student working on my dissertation, so I am home all day with my baby, but, in order to get writing done, when my husband comes home in the afternoon we do a hand-off of the baby and he takes over the feedings from there with the bottles that I pump in the morning. I am happy to report that the Avent nipples have not caused any nipple confusion with my baby when it comes to breastfeeding.

If you pump at the same time every day, after 2-4 days of consistent pumping at that time, your body will automatically start producing more milk, making pumping that much easier and faster. When I used the manual Avent pump, it would take approximately 30-45 minutes to produce a 4 oz bottle (from one breast). This electric pump has cut the amount of time I spend pumping down to approximately 10 minutes and I am getting consistently getting 5.5-6.5oz every morning (from one breast).

10 minutes of pumping time includes the initial set up of the pump, but does NOT include cleaning/sanitizing. I always clean and sanitize the pump to get it ready for the next session so it's quick to get going the next time; it takes me an additional 5-10 minutes to clean/sanitize, depending on if I needed to use one or both pumps. Most mornings I only need to use one pump because I pump right after my baby's initial feeding. However, on the weekends, my husband does the first feeding, which means I need to pump both breasts in the morning.

That's one of the things that you might want to consider in order to save money when selecting a pump: if you buy the single pump, you can save approximately $60 (and maybe even more). Now that I have been trying to use the dual pump, as someone who works from home, I will admit I don't necessarily *need* the dual pump. I can totally see myself pumping just one side at a time on the days that I'd need to pump both breasts (since it's usually just Saturday and Sunday). But it is a nice option to have since pumping only one breast at a time would double the amount of time spent pumping. So if I left home for work, the convenience of being able to pump both breasts simultaneously would totally be worth the extra $60 or so.

When I first started using the pump, I was trying to use both pumps at the same time (you don't have to--but I was curious to see if I could get every last drop of milk out to make as many bottles as possible). This meant I was usually pumping right after a feeding because I was too afraid to wait and take milk away from the baby if I emptied both breasts right before he needed to nurse. This caused me some pain in the breast I was pumping from which the baby had already nursed. But when I saw no milk was coming out anymore, I would stop and take the pump off (because the manual says do not pump more than 5 minutes if no milk is being produced--I never waited that long, though). At first, I would--maybe--get about half an ounce out of an already-nursed breast. After a week or so of pumping that way, though, I was getting about 2oz and I'd combine that to make additional bottles. But for me, the pain (which wasn't that bad) and the extra cleaning/sanitizing time of the second pump, wasn't worth it being able to make 1 4oz bottle after two days (since I was only pumping once a day). So now, I don't even bother trying to pump an already nursed breast. But it possible if you're consistent with the time of day.

On a regular, normal pumping basis, though, I feel no pain from this pump. The petals are comfortable and I can control the amount of suction really easily. On mornings when my breasts aren't as engorged, I use a fast sucking motion to mimic what my son does when he first starts nursing to bring the milk down. But on mornings when my breasts are engorged, I don't need to do that at all. After two or three pumps, the milk is coming down all on its own with this pump. And it's really great because all the Avent bottles fit the pump no problem. PLEASE NOTE: the 2 4oz bottles that came with this pump come with 2 blue adapter rings, and if you forget these, they won't attach to the pump. You also need to leave these adapter rings on the bottle when you attach the sealing disk. If you don't, as soon as you tip the bottle, the milk is going to leak out. The very first time I used the pump, I used the bottles that came with the pump and made this mistake and lost an ounce of milk trying to figure out why the bottle was leaking (I had been so used to the manual pump and not having any adapter rings between the sealing disk and bottle that I didn't realize the adapter ring needed to stay on the bottle).

As for milk being left in the reservoir (the neck of the pump), I actually haven't had this issue. I DID have this issue with the manual version of this pump. But the electric pump does a really good job of sucking all the milk out for me.

If you use the 4oz bottles, you will need to place them on the white funnel covers to keep them from tipping over. Both of my 4oz bottles fit into the funnel covers--the ones my SIL gave me actually fit better than the ones that came with the pump. The hard plastic clear Avent bottles actually click into the funnel covers. The milky white plastic bottles (that need the adapter rings, these are the bottles that come with the pump) just sit in the funnel cover, they don't fit as tightly as the regular hard plastic bottles, so that's also something to be aware of.

People have complained about the bottles still tipping over even if they're in the funnel cover, and that's because they leave the pumping handles on the top of the pump (the part that has the tubing), leaving them top heavy or the tubing wants to bend a certain way, wrenching the bottle over. But if you take the electric part of the handle off before setting the bottle down (which is easy if you're only pumping one side), or take them off as soon as you put the bottle down (harder to do if you're pumping both sides, but I'll explain how to do it), then tipping isn't a problem.

How to avoid tipping the bottle with the handle on the pump (as opposed to the clear plastic lid): The pump with the blue button (that you push to activate the automatic pumping) has a long handle... Read more ›

4.0 out of 5 stars great pump, March 13, 2011
This review is from: Philips AVENT BPA Free Twin Electric Breast Pump, White (Baby Product)
I hope this will help pump shoppers because let me tell you what, I did a lot of research and was extremely undecided until I came across this pump. I found a video on utube. It works great and the price is decent for what all you get. So here we go:

- The speed is controllable right at your finger tip, great option.
- It is comfortable with the use of the breast shells.
- Parts to clean- breast shells, diaphrams, valves, horns, seems like a lot but I think that's pretty standard and it's not that bad.
- Love the long cord I can move around the room with the pump if I need to.
- Replacement parts easy to find on Amazon at a great price.

Cons- comments to other comments I've seen:

When you buy the bottles, don't buy the clear ones with the seal ring, they suck and leak. Get the good hard plastic ones like the ones that come with this pump. You will know because they have a honey colored tint to them. They cost a little more but so worth it, no leaking and easier to clean. If you don't want to use their bottles get the adapter to fit others, found on Amazon.***************

Nipples are great for breast to bottle transition for the baby plus when you are done with the 4 oz bottles and level 1,2 nipples, get the storage sealing disc and use them to store baby food!!!!

Tipping: You have to use the discs to keep them propted up if you are setting them down. If they still fall it's because of pulling on the cords or bumping them. If you use containers bigger than 4 oz. they won't fit in the discs, but they will sit on their own you just have to be careful.

Very minor cons, that's the only reason it didn't get 5 stars. Definately works good and save the money over a $300-400 Madela.
