Wonderful Product!!!!,
This review is from: Philips AVENT Express Food and Bottle Warmer, White (Baby Product)
This bottle warmer works great!! Since we don't have a microwave to heat water quickly, and I got tired of trying to heat bottles in warm water, a bottle warmer seemed to be the best solution.
I choose this brand because I use the Avent bottles and because a local store had it marked down to $24 (I didn't know the original price, and didn't realize what a deal I was getting). I was hoping it would work well, but it has surpassed all my expectations. It heats VERY quickly, even from refrigerator temperature. It's easy to use, clean, and store. Just be sure and follow the instructions. Once it begins to blink, remove the bottle and check the temp. I waited once and the bottle got quite warm. But, everytime I've removed it right away, the temp. has been perfect. One note on the blinking light. The instructions say when the light blinks, the water has reached the proper temp. Now blinking to me means the light going on and off every few seconds. I guess this is not what blinking means to them. The light will go off, stay off for about 30-60 seconds, and then turn back on for 30-60 seconds. I didn't realize this was "blinking" until I waited through a few cycles and found the bottle very warm. So, I just put it where I can see it and remove the bottle when the light goes off the first time. Also, as the other reviewer said, there is an on/off switch on the back of the until. I highly recommend this product!!

Better than the steam-based ones,

We use this warmer with the Dr Brown's glass bottles and have been very happy with it. Originally we had the steam-based version from Philips. It worked great as well, but the lid sometimes got in the way, you couldn't always tell how much water was at the bottom, so we dumped and refilled every time.
This warmer just sits there quietly, warms up quickly and you don't have to guess whether the warming is done or not because you can feel the temperature of the milk through the glass in the unsubmerged portion of the bottle. At first we thought it would take much longer than the steam-based version but haven't found that to be the case -- 2-3 minutes is enough. The one thing we've found is that the bottles warm better the higher the water level, so we fill it to the brim each time. Also, it can be easy to forget this is on and we've found it will start to super-heat the water to a low boil. Left on overnight (we unplug each night) this could be a problem.

This is a lifesaver!! We love it. It works with all of our other bottles. It is simple, fast, and easy to use. There is a on/off switch on the back regardless of the reviews I just read stating that there is not. One of the best new parent/baby buys I have made!

This bottle warmer has done its job and is awesome compared to running it under hot water (took forever) but it has some weird features. It has 3 settings but for warming anything from 4 oz. bottles to baby food, you use setting 3---don't know why there are even other settings. Also, it needs a timer. They give you specific heating times but there is no timer on the unit. You need to set another timer in order to not overheat the milk.

This is a great warmer! We used it primarily to heat breast milk. It's great because you can adjust the heat and it's CONSISTENT. When you first get it, set the dial in the middle, put a bottle of refrigerated milk in it and then keep testing it at 1 minute, 2 minutes, etc. until you know how long it takes at a dial setting to heat the milk to the temperature you want. If you know you want more time to let the bottle heat, turn it down and do the same test. Likewise for less time. We got it so we set the dial at a position and left it for 3-4 minutes and got exactly the temp we wanted. We used it for more than a year and the thing was consistent the whole time. It's espeially great because you can leave a nanny with instructions and feel more at ease that she'll get it right.

Does the job,

I spent a lot of time scrutinizing bottle warmer reviews before deciding on this one. I breastfeed, but give my daughter the occasional bottle of expressed breastmilk. Early on I just warmed bottles using hot tap water in a cup, but it took forever to warm refrigerated milk. This bottle warmer does the job quickly. You do have to remember to turn it off, and if you leave the bottle in the warmer for too long, it can scorch, but that, to me, is to be expected. I just keep an eye on it and haven't had any troubles.

While buying this product I was not sure it would work with bottles other Avents. We have used it with Medela and Dr Brown bottles and it works great.

My wife and I had hard time running to the kitchen and back to the bedroom for getting a warm water to heat the milk in the middle of the night with your eyes half closed and youre half awake. It takes about 8 mins til we're able to serve our baby a warm milk. Shes hungry! So I looked around the net for solution and found this product. Read the reviews and I was convinced that this is what we really needed. Both me and my wife are very pleased and happy how quick this product warms the bottle milk. It takes about 2-3 mins thats when the light shuts off and by that time the milk is ready. The moment the orange lamp/light turns off we pull out the bottle immediately and the milk temperature is just right. The water level is sometimes hard to determine how much youve poured in. cant really tell if its already level to the milk. My wife simply just lets it go little over the level of the milk. I wish they put a water level indicator outside. When the lamp/light turns off the water inside is hot, you can see it steam up and evaporate so you keep a bottled water beside ready for the next heating. After the light turns off after few mins it will turn on again because I believe it will maintain the hot water temperature. We put the dial setting high full to the right that way it's quick on heating the water and the bottled milk. This product is very very helpful making our response time to our baby quicker. When she cries, she cant wait for the milk. Just test the milk always before giving it to the baby. Always. I highly recommed this product to parents with baby.

Great product. Use it to warm food jars, while getting the rest of the family's meal on the table. Works very quickly. No mess. Simple to use. Would definitely recommend it.

Fire hazard! Read before purchasing, please!!,

So we have used this bottle warmer for over 8 months now. I have to say, with all the sleep deprived parents using this item, often in the middle of the night, you would think that Avent would be wise enough to put an auto-shut-off feature on this little doohickey. But, no. I exclusively feed my baby breastmilk, and that stuff is like "liquid gold" (from what everyone has told me, and I'm inclined to agree), and I can't even tell you how often I have put a bottle in the warmer to warm it and then forgot it was in there for like 15 minutes. The milk gets boiling hot in that time, and then it's useless and I have to pour it out because it's not supposed to be heated to boiling. I know people are probably going to read this and wonder how one could forget that they put a bottle in the warmer, but now that our baby is sleeping through the night, it's more for when my husband is giving her a bath, I will get the bottle ready for him as he gives her a bottle after her bath and puts her to bed (his time with her during the week). So many times I have forgotten it was in there and burned the milk, but also - and this is the really dangerous part - the light will shut off for like 30 seconds at a time (what they call "blinking", if you can believe that), and so often it will look like it's turned off when there is no bottle in it, but it isn't, and it will just keep heating the water in there until it's all gone. We have found it on after a couple of hours away from it because we didn't notice the "blinking" light because it was off at the time, and there is no other indication that it's on from the front. The switch is on the back and it's not clearly marked "on/off" either. I can't imagine how it hasn't caught fire for other people or melted the plastic when the water is all gone. Thankfully, I have noticed it before the water was completely gone, but it was almost gone. How unsafe! Anyway, I still use it because I haven't found one with an auto-off feature, but will be looking for one. I have to set the timer on my microwave now whenever I put a bottle in because half of my brain cells disappeared when my baby was born apparently, and I'm way too distracted to remember it's on. BAD DESIGN!!!
