The "slow flow" is a level TWO nipple. The website description says slow flow is for 0 months (which should be a level ONE nipple), but the packaging says for 1+ months, which is a level TWO nipple. Now I have eight extra level two nipples and I'm out the money for those. These are fabulous nipples if you can get the right size. The lowered star is for the vendor description, not the product.

My son, like most babies, uses a bottle from time to time! As new parents, we got all different sizes of nipples assuming that he would start at the newborn size and work his way up, newborn, then size 1 then size 2 etc etc. However, that is not the case.. Our son born october started with a size 1. Any other size he would spit out or sound like he was choking from the milk shooting into the back of his throat. 6 months later, he is still using.. size 1. The doctor states that whatever size they are comfortable with is the size they will stick with. It was explained that the ducts on mom's nipple dont get any bigger so why should the nipples you put on a bottle. Made sense to us.

Now these nipples, we've tried a few different brands and these Avent ones were the ones that our son decided on. Had nothing to do with the fact that we liked them. We got various nipples and bottles and used the ones he didnt spit up as much with, and immediately latched on. for the dads out there that will need to feed while the breastfeeding mom is at work or sleeping, make sure you take the time to find a nipple/bottle that works! I would have my son write this review as he uses these nipples frequently but I fear for the life of my keyboard as he likes sucking on these nipples.... and everything else!

I noticed someone mentioned these leak. These are for the New Natural Avent System, NOT the Classical bottles!! Work fine with the New System =)

Priced well. Superb quality. Soft natural shape helped me feed my newborn when we had latch problems and my breastmilk flow was too much and too fast. Started my newborn on number 1 nipples. At 3 months, switched to number 2. At 5 months, switched to number 3 -- which is comparable to the flow of my breasts. So after 5 months of 100% bottle feeding, I put her back on the breast and she had no problems accepting it. Now she's on 50% breast and 50% bottle with no problems going back and forth.

I use these with the Avent glass bottles and love the system. The glass washes up great, heats milk evenly and quickly when you place the bottle in a bowl of hot water (never overheats this way). Couldn't be happier with the Avent natural bottles and nipples.

Another thing that people fail to consider that I would like to mention here is...you can buy Avent at your local drugstore, Target, Wallmart, BabiesRus...etc.This is so important because when you have emergencies and can't wait for Amazon to send a shipment there is that option. At first I wast contemplating Como Tomo which had excellent reviews online but decided against it because I've never seen those bottles at any of the stores I where I shop and I'm in a big city (Los Angeles). Anyway, I'm so glad I chose Avent and would highly recommend and use the same bottles for my next baby.

Fits the new BPA free bottles. Don't forget that there are 'old' bottles and 'new' bottles. They are not compatible.

I really wanted to be able to nurse and have baby take a bottle for when I returned to work. The Natural nipple was my answer. My baby does both without nipple confusion!

Beautifully designed. More natural, softer and flexible.
No leaking whatsoever, easier cleaning as well.
Thumbs up and recommended to all mommies.

Just be aware that the Avent natural nipples add more holes to the nipple as you increase the flow rate instead of just making one hole larger. If you want to add a little baby cereal (I recommend oatmeal, not rice) to your baby's night time bottle (not before 4 months of age), then you'll need a different kind of bottle and nipple like the Medela bottles with medium flow nipple.

We've loved our Avent natural bottles and nipples for regular feedings, particularly from 3 weeks to 9 months when I was nursing first and then supplementing with a bottle of formula, and I wanted to make sure that Baby wouldn't have problems going back and forth between the breast and bottle.
