I just got this cd player and so far it is great. The packaging was kind of hard to open but the cd player works great. Its nice and loud and you can add extra bass.

I've owned and used mine for two years now; its been reliable and works well. I use both AA and AAA rechargable alkaline batteries; there's two different battery covers for use with each size of batteries.
I wish the volume control was more flexable (it has 30 stepped values, digitally controlled, and always comes on at 8), but other than that I've been very happy with this CD player.

I bought this cd player at Target & returned it the same day. First off, as other reviewers commented, the packaging is a real pain to open. But my big complaint is this cd player is supposed to take either 2 AAA batteries, or 2 AA batteries. When you try to insert 2 AA batteries you cannot put the lid back on the battery compartment. I tried everything (& yes, I did read the instructions). I have no idea how this thing sounds or whether or not it skips. I returned it once I discovered the problem with the battery compartment.

"Jogproof"? So, where's the clip???!!!,
By A Customer
This review is from: Philips AX5212 Compact & Slim Portable CD Player (Carbon and Red) (Electronics)
The package says "skip free jogproof." While I'm sure that's true, how is one to jog with this product when there's no waistband clip? More deception: the product, in the packaging, looks as if the lid is textured. It's not. The packaging took me ten minutes to open--with a brand-new (now ruined) pair of scissors. I nearly cut my arm on a sharp edge. Packaging couldn't be more difficult to open (and I've opened many such). WAY overpriced. I would've expected all of this at $29.99. I am really disappointed. I've been a supporter of Philips products for many years. Maybe they should just stay away from personal audio products. I found it interesting/amusing that there's a card in the product that says something like, "Wait! Please call us before you return this product!" ("Because we know it [is bad], and we want to apologize to you!") |
