great sound, great reception, looks cool.
Does not sound at all like a cheap boombox! This is in the price range with those generic boomboxes, but this boombox sounds about 100 times better. Even though it doesn't have tweeters, the sound clarity is still great. The analog tuner is much better than many digital tuners, and picks up all local stations. Philips makes the only boomboxes I've tried that can pick up...

It's not getting better
Wasn't that the Phillips slogan for a while? "You've got to admit it's getting better?" I bought this player 4 years ago and it has died already. The reason I purchased this particular one was because it was the right size and the one with the Phillips name on it. I have another "boombox" stereo that I purchased 12 years ago that still works fine. I would not...

This boombox is, price-wise, right down there with the generic ones, but the sound is 100 times better. This boombox looks cool and has great sound clarity. FM reception is great, crisp with an almost cd-quality sound. In my opinion, the best part of it is it gets my favorite alternative rock station that other boomboxes can't get.

My 8 year old son bought this CD player for himself based on looks and price, and he's been very happy with it. It's easy to use, sound quality is very good, and it is priced well.

I have this Boombox and its great and [$] is a good price. The only thing that would make it better is if it had an indicator light to show that the CD player is on. My kids leave it on all the time.

It was fine until just over a year almost daily use. The slide switch which changes function doesnt work, so it can now only be used as a CD player.Unfortunately its out of guarantee.
