Pretty great machine,

This review is from: Philips AZ1515 CD Boombox (Electronics)
This boombox has been my main CD player for the past four years, and it still sounds terrific. Especially considering I paid only about $60 for it, if memory serves. Granted, even with the "DBB" engaged, the bass is still pretty weak. But the highs are clear, and the mids are good enough, even at high volumes. One issue I've noticed of late is that some CDs need to be manually spun backward before the machine will register them. But at least the AZ1515 is top loading, which makes such a workaround feasible.
I had another Philips boombox before this one, which I ended up giving away after using it for five years (the person I gave it to is still using it, nine years post-purchase). But I can vouch for the quality of the brand, at least as far as low-end boomboxes go. |
