I really like Avent's versatility; the nipples, spouts, cups, bottles and handles can all be used interchangeably.

I don't like the way they classify their nipples. Each nipple has 3 classifications. I wish they would only use one classification system because it can be quite confusing if you go to buy different nipples.
1.) flow
2.) baby's age
3.) a number

Also, the title of the item doesn't say what age or number of nipple this is, and there currently isn't a description.

FYI:

They are number 3 for 3+ months.

I love Avent bottles & nipples for my baby who was 2mo premature. He responded well to them & even breast fed while taking a bottle with these nipples. We had other issues that interfered with breast feeding, but it had nothing to do with this system. I would highly recommend Avent products & these specific nipples. I did read the few comments that mentioned leaking & if you forget to put the ring on the bottle, it will leak...if it's there, I've never had an issue at all. Of course, I don't shake the bottles vigorously, as I don't find it necessary when mixing formula for the occasions I do use it for. I do; however, have a very active boy who turns his head on a dime whenever he hears something & often knocks the bottle around...still, never had a problem with leaking.

I purchased these because my daughter uses only Avent bottles. She has been using the size 2 nipples, but they are starting to concave and she was having a hard time sucking anything out. THIS LISTING IS FOR SIZE 3 NIPPLES. They are perfect, they are a little more firmer than the size 2 nipples and they don't cave in when she sucks. Cheaper on here than at Target, Walmart and Babies R Us!

The avent system is designed to not totaly seal to the bottle so it can vent through the ring instead of through the holes at the business end of the nipple. They sort of relyed on the fact that you can make something liquid tight but not air tight. The problem with this is when you are shaking the bottle in order to mix the formula with the water 50% of the time you will have a leak. Also when you tilt the bottle to put it in your childs mouth you will sometimes have a small gush of milk from the ring.

I have tried several different things to prevent this. i have assembled it wet, dry, tightly, loosely, moderately, etc. but i cant seem to find a pattern with the leaking, they just leak sometimes. This is especially anoying in the middle of the night.

Update: We have been having extreme issues with these bottles/nipples. The either leak or don't vent or leak or don't vent etc. We will never buy these bottles again. And we will never recommend them.

I got these for my 9.month-old as i had already bought the number 4s and the flow was too fast for her. Number 3s are perfect for her now at 9 months.

This bottle nipple is great in quality and all, come on it is just that, good flow! Philips avent medium flow for 6 months was such a big help, she start to drink fast.

I bought two of those avent nipples. In each package, one nipple is defective. This is the worst transaction I've made with amazon. So disappointed! Waste of time to buy and return

Our son has bad congestion and it takes a lot of work for him to eat. Switching up to a level 3 has been great for him in terms of being able to take in more forumla. He was eating anywhere from 30 to 120 cc before, now he is eating 150+ because he isn't expending all his energy trying to breathe and suck at the same time. It's also cut down on the amount of time it takes to feed him. Have not noticed more spit up or gas with the level 3 compared with the level 1. Wish I had started using these earlier but all the nurses and doctors recommended using the Preemie nipple!

We were looking for a bottle nipple that would not stress our baby's gums when sucking and this has good flow. Overall I am happy to find a BPA free product that I know will not cause my litle one harm.
