Great pacifiers,

Our child isn't big on any pacifier but he's taken to these ones the best. They don't have a top or bottom so we don't have to make sure it's in correctly which is nice at night. They also come with plastic covers that clip right on so when it's in the diaper bag or in a pocket the part of the pacifier our son sucks on doesn't get dirty.

These are wonderful pacifiers made by Avent. My son took to them right away. They are made of silicon and are BPA free as well as made in England. I like that they can go in his mouth either way, there is no top or bottom. Like most Avent products, these are great quality.

Great for tiny babies,
This review is from: Philips AVENT BPA Free Contemporary Freeflow Pacifier, 0-6 Months, Colors and Designs May Vary (Baby Product)
Frustrated with other pacifiers, most notably the "soothie" type given out by hospitals (the kind that constantly pops out of the mouth), I originally chose the standard Avent pacifiers for my first son because they most resembled the shape of a breast nipple when inside a baby's mouth. I found they were the best because of the shape, the fact that they are silicone, come in simple colors, have the nifty snap-on cap, and have no up/down. But when shopping for my newborn, I found this "freeflow" type, and I have to say it's so much better than the original! Firstly, the shield has more ventilation holes. But more importantly, not only is the shield slightly curved to conform to baby's face, but the outer edge of it is also curved back away from the face (whereas the original is completely flat). This looks more comfortable for baby, PLUS the curved edge does not cut into a tiny baby's nose like the original. Highly recommended!! The best out there!

Love these!,

We've used these pacifiers for only a few hours now, and I'm already sold. I've been an NICU nurse for 13 years, and we always used another brand with our babies at work. My daughter (now 11 weeks old) would not take that other brand very well, and I assumed it was because she was exclusively breastfed and just didn't like pacifiers in general. She would suck on my finger very happily, but that's not very convenient if you need to use your hand to do anything else. She took to these pacifiers right away. She didn't have any trouble nursing right after using one, she can keep them in her mouth, and she sucked herself right to sleep just a little while ago. I like that they're flat where the gums are--I've seen some kids' teeth coming in crooked due to lots of time sucking on rounded pacifiers. I also love the caps that come with them to keep them clean. Now I can throw them in my purse or in the diaper bag and not worry about them getting dirty. Happy mommy!

only pacifier that does not cause a rash,

All the other pacifiers we tried were curved and touched the cheeks, causing a rash. These are the only ones that did not. While this is enough for 5 stars these have other advantages in the design: silicon nipple (latex nipples can cause latex allergies which can be life threatening), nipple cover, air escape vents.
Overall great design!

We've tried other types of pacifiers but both my children liked these pacifiers best. They're really attractive as well & come in a variety of different colors. Love them.

not as good as MAM,

my little one prefers the MAM pacifiers, which have a grip surface on the nipple so the baby can keep it in his mouth easier. what i DID like about these AVENT pacifiers are the caps that go over the nipple for protection. i like that i can toss it in my diaper bag or purse and not worry about the nipple getting dirty.

He didn't love them, but he doesn't hate them either. Our little dude prefers the Nuke's, those are his go-to binkies. We use these when we can't find his favorites. I liked that there is no "up" or "down", but I don't think he's into that. Definitely wont be getting these again, or as a gift for any friends.

My son is almost 4 weeks old. He likes this pacifier compared to the soothie or soother one we got from the hospital.

Heavy, poorly shaped.,

There is not enough shape to the nipple part. Combined with the heaviness of the plastic, baby can't latch on to it, and if she does - it falls right out because of the weight. I would have expected much better for the price. I use only MAM now, but I can imagine just about any other pacifier would be better than these. I gave an extra star because they do seem made well, but functionally, these are only a 1 star.
