Saved my DVD player,

This review is from: Philips DVD/CD Laser Lens Cleaner - PH62022 (Electronics)
I have a five year old Samsung home theater that has the receiver and dvd combined, recently the dvd would stop and shut down about an hour into playing a movie. I thought the dvd was on it's way out and after five years of regular use it seemed fair enough, however after some research decided that cleaning the lens was worth a shot, I mean I have never cleaned the darn thing in five years, and after hundreds if not thousands of rental movies being shoved into the blessed thing, I guess it was long overdue. So I purchased the Philips cleaning kit, from Walmart actually but don't tell Amazon, anyway the instructions were easy to follow and it comes with a rotating disc cleaner device for cleaning discs prior to sticking those nasty rental discs in the machine. Anyway after running the cleaner a few times my player worked perfectly! I couldn't have been happier, the kit saved my system from the dumpster and me parting with the $$$ for a new system.

Not effective at all,

I assume this is the product that comes with the DVD/CD "Cleaning Kit" which also includes a radial cd cleaner as well. The Lens Cleaner is incredibly ineffective and didn't improve the reading on both of my DVD players. Also, this product can NOT be used on any gaming system (or at least thats what it says on the package) so I wouldn't trust it to clean your PS2 or XBox lens. I'm going to try out Scotch DVD Maintenance Kit or Game Dr. 2-DISC Laserblast Optical Lens Cleaner instead and hope that it does the trick.

Does what it says,

I have been satisfied with this product for months now. If my DVD's begin skipping, or stopping, I insert the DVD into my player as it says to and follow the announcers instructions. I appreciate it's use.
