When I bought this DVD player, I had just thrown another in the trash. I never understood its instructions. However, this Phillips DVP-1120 DVD Player came with clearly stated instructions that did not assume the owner had prior knowledge of how things were suppose to work. I connected it right the first time and it has played well for me every since.

Cheap & Convenient,

If you are looking just for a small and easy-to-use DVD player, this is the right one! I didn't mind spend more money for another DVD player, but I didn't see the point to buy a huge and hard-to-use DVD player if I just press PLAY and watch my movie. Audio and Video quality are very good, and I don't see the difference between mine and the others. Obviously a BlueRay Player outweights any DVD player if you are looking for quality.

So easy to use. We were looking for a no-frills DVD player and this fits the bill perfectly. No regrets.

I can't review the quality of the actual player, because I still haven't received one that works, over one month after purchase. But I can review the customer service provided by Philips.
The day I received this player, I discovered it was defective. One hour on the phone with the customer service rep confirmed this. Since then, I've spent about 1.5 hours on the phone three different times, trying to get a replacement for this DVD player which never worked in the first place. I was bounced around to different departments, given different answers to the same question, and placed on hold for lengthy periods. Philips' customer service center seems to be a ridiculous tangled web of many different systems which do not interface with each other. This might be a great DVD player, but I will never buy a Philips product again based on this experience. |
