5.0 out of 5 stars Outstanding unit which plays all my DVD's!!Read your User Manual before you come here and slam it., May 7, 2007
This review is from: Philips DVP3150V HiFi DVD/VCR Combo (Electronics)
It's sad to see some of the bad reviews here. I see a lot of people complaining about the remote not having an eject feature, no manual tracking, and a lot of other what I feel is non relevant to this awesome unit! First of all you CAN manually adjust the tracking of tapes, just look at page 33 of your User Manual. Read the manual people!! I know it looks like 200 pages long but in the English part it's a whole 66 pages!! As far as having a button to open the disc tray you still have to get up and change the disc's anyway. Lets get to what really matters, I have a $300.00 Toshiba unit that won't play any DVD's unless it's a commercial one bought in the store. This system plays every disc I own, commercial, burned +, -, you name it! The hook up is a breeze, The sound with the High Fi is awesome and my tapes play great! It records television no problem. I just want to say an awesome unit for an awesome price!! Thanks,Wayne L.

1.0 out of 5 stars half of this never worked, March 15, 2007

I decided to risk the purchase based on previous reviews. I got it and it seemed like it would be fine. The VCR portion worked beautifully, audio and video. The DVD portion's audio was fine, but the video never worked - all I saw was jagged lines across the screen. Would not recommend this product.

2.0 out of 5 stars Cheap quality, Bad Remote, January 23, 2007

This review is from: Philips DVP3150V HiFi DVD/VCR Combo (Electronics)
I purchased this vcr/dvd based on the fact that it wasn't the most expensive one and it wasn't the cheapest either. As soon as I took it out of the box I was unhappy. It is a featherweight. It does not play any of my VHS tapes that I had previously taped on my old VCR. The tracking is off and you can't fix it manually. I dislike the remote - the control buttons for which unit you are controlling are hard to find - buried in the middle of the all the buttons. There is no volume control or easily identifiable tracking buttons on the remote. The stop button is also the rewind button, and it kept doing the opposite of what I was trying to make it do. The channel changing number buttons are small and not easy to use because of their low position on the remote. Overall I was quite unhappy with my purchase and am taking it back to the store.
