The Philips FWM779 5-CD changer shelf system has everything you need to listen to CDs, play games on your favorite gaming console, and even play MP3 files stored on your computer through the FWM779. With all these connections, the FWM779 becomes your entertainment hub, making it ideal for students or studio apartment dwellers who are short on space and need versatility in their home audio equipment.
It's easy to connect the FWM779 to your PC using the USB PC Link connection and stream audio files stored on your computer through the powerful speakers of the shelf system. You can use the supplied 3-meter USB cable to turn the FWM779 into a virtual MP3 jukebox, and you can even control playback and audio settings through the console or the remote control and view track information on the system's display. It comes with MusicMatch software so you can make playlists on your PC and easily access them.
With a gameport connection, you can connect the FWM779 to any console and take advantage of a Game Sound Mode with three settings--Speed, Punch, and Blast--designed to make your games more realistic and thrilling no matter what genre of game you play. The special MIX-IT function will let you play game sounds along with your favorite music from the radio, CD, or any externally connected audio device so your games have a personal flavor.
The FWM779 can play music on CD, including CD-R, CD-RW, and even MP3 formatted discs, which allow you to store and play up to ten hours of music on one CD. The two speakers together provide 400 watts of power for clear and dynamic audio. Philips's wOOx technology works with the speaker drivers and the wOOx radiator to maintain tuning between the driver and tweeter to ensure smooth sound between low and high frequencies. This means you can hear low and vibrant bass without obvious distortion. Incredible Surround also works to give you the best audio experience by expanding the sound field to create greater depth and clarity.
The FWM779 also functions as a clock and CD alarm and has a sleep timer. The FTD display shows time, date, track, album, CD functions, song title, and artist. An AM/FM tuner has autostore and easy set functions, making it simple to scan and program your favorite radio stations, and has 40 presets so you can access those stations at the touch of a button. Inputs include aux in, USB PC Link, composite video, and a gameport, and outputs consist of composite video out and a 3.5 mm headphone jack.
