5.0 out of 5 stars Surprisingly, the best headphones I've ever had
I've had these for 4-5 years and I use them every day with my computer. The foam has partially disintegrated, but I can't find other headphones to replace them with. They seem to have an amazing dynamic range and somehow are able to produce better volume than others, including other Phillips. The base sounds rich and full and the treble is not distorted one bit. 2.0 out of 5 stars yuck
They all have the same flaw in them. one channel(side) always has more bass than the other. if its not that then they are never balanced right. all in all they are cheap so your gunna get a cheap manufactured headphone. i recommend you look for something else because this product is a waste of money

They seem to have an amazing dynamic range and somehow are able to produce better volume than others, including other Phillips. The base sounds rich and full and the treble is not distorted one bit. Other headphones in the same category (lightweight, over the ear design) I've tried all sound tinny and weak. I can get comparable sound from full-size Bose or Koss headphones, but they are uncomfortable for long periods of use.
I just got Phillips SDC HL145 and they also don't measure up. But my plan is transfer the foam pads to these and then keep using them. If I had realized they were still for sale on Amazon, I would have just bought a new pair.

5.0 out of 5 stars I think they're great!, July 18, 2007

I've had my Philips Headphones (HL130) for about 4 years now and have had absolutely no problems with them. I use them mainly for listening on the computer so as to not have my speakers on very loud and they work great.

I found an extra bonus for me is that they work on a microcassette recorder that I have and to my surprise, sound comes out of both ear phones and not just one as usually happens. Now I'm trying to find replacement foam covers as they need to be replaced.

So far, so good for me!
