Pros: Great design, excellent sound quality, very clear screen, easy to use, many great features.
Cons: few wallpapers, no light message indicator, no PC connection.

In general - excellent phone. It's NOT chiming every 30 minutes, like it was mentioned in some reviews, and I didn't have any problems setting it up and use. Great design, excellent sound quality, very convenient to use, very clear color screen. Has some nice features like alarm, import phonebook from SIM card, speakerphone etc.

Couple minor drawbacks: Answering machine works great for me, however, when message is recorded, the indicator appears on the screen only, so you don't see it from the distance. It would be nice if there was a light flashing either on the handset or on the base. Also, from the phone of this class you could expect the PC connection so you could upload the phone book and wallpapers. Some other phones like VTech have this feature. You can upload the address book from the SIM card, but you cannot upload wallpapers. The phone has only five wallpapers, and they are not very exciting.

Despite these minor issues, this is the best phone we had so far.

I am returning this phone, which I purchased from Frontgate. The sound quality is good, but it occasionally breaks up for no apparent reason -- like a cell phone, chopping every other word. It has several annoying quirks: a red light that flashes on top to indicate there are calls in your caller id (and doesn't stop after you view them); an answering system that has to be accessed through several levels of menus; a default display clock that pulsates with different levels of brightness on two of the four handsets I bought; a date which displays in the European fashion (e.g., Nov. 9 is 9-11); etc. Don't believe the hype about less interference with wireless networks either -- my router makes this thing buzz in a way my 5.8 GHz phones never did. But the most ridiculous thing is the price -- four DECT 6.0 handsets with base unit from Panasonic cost less than this handset plus base unit alone. Once I realized this, I decided to switch.

1.0 out of 5 stars Poor quality phone, August 4, 2007

This review is from: Philips ID9371B/37 Enhanced High DefVoice Digital Cordless Phone with Single Handset (Office Product)
I purchased this phone after seeing it advertised in Frontgate. It was difficult to set-up and required many resets before the answering machine would play my outgoing message and record incoming messages. The number of rings function did not work properly. I am now returning it because when I do receive a call and the caller leaves a message, the phone acts as if it is off the hook for an extended period of time.

1.0 out of 5 stars The little black phone that wouldn't stop chiming...., October 2, 2007

This phone looks cool and has a lot of great features, but we ended up returning it for 2 reasons. The phone kept chiming every 30 minutes and repeated phone calls to Philips customer support could not solve the problem. We actually read this in 2 other reviews on different websites, but figured it must have been a fluke. It was very disappointing that Philips could not solve the problem. The other thing I disliked about the phone is the curved handset made it difficult to press the number keys. Not worth it for the price of the phone, or for the price of the additional handsets. If you don't mind constant chiming...go for it!

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Philips ID9371B/37 Enhanced High DefVoice Digital Cordless Phone with Single Handset (Office Product)
After reading some of the reviews, I was nervous about buying this phone, but it's Philips, and it's Amazon, so I knew I'd be covered if it was a bad phone. I bought the base and the extra handset.

I really like this phone! The sound quality is incredible, and the battery life--well, I haven't killed a battery YET, and that's really saying something for me haha. I love the blinking light on the top that tells me when I've missed a call, and it seems to know if they've left a message on my PacBell service (not the answering machine built in--I disabled that because I pay for offsite answering machine service). The display is nice and big (a bit confusing when you have to dial many numberes, as it does not input a - between the area code and prefix and number) and the different icons for battery life, antenna range, calls missed, etc., are all very clear and easy to see. The phone book is a usual phone book... nothing special, except that you can arrange your contacts into groups and assign them different ringtones. Physically, the phone is big enough to hold on your shoulder, and it looks really nice when hung up. The wallpapers are limited but they are nice looking. The screensaver with the clock is really nice--we put the base phone in the living room (on top of the tv cabinet) and it's dim enough not to distract from dark-room-tv-watching, but clear enough that you can see the clock from quite a distance.
I am very glad I bought this phone. The new DECT technology has been awesome--no conflicts with any of my wireless network (PS3, 4 computers) or microwave oven.
The price here on Amazon is great, their customer service is great. If you are in the market for a phone, this is a good choice.

1.0 out of 5 stars Good while it worked, however, disappointing quality and bad Philips customer service, April 18, 2010
This review is from: Philips ID9371B/37 Enhanced High DefVoice Digital Cordless Phone with Single Handset (Office Product)
I had this phone for just over a year until batteries were up for replacement. Purchased a new set of rechargable AA batteries only to find out the AC/DC Adpater is not charging the batteries any longer. Called Philips customer service and was told to buy a new AC/DC Adapter at Radio Shack, which of course was just their way of saying "I don't want to deal with you". Needless to say Radio Shack did not have this very AC/DC Adapter for the Philips is a very unique one as far as the jack is concerned. Based on this aweful quality and customer service experience I can only say this is the very last Philips item I have bought. Never ever will I take another look at Philips even though they build "nice appearance" devices like this cordless phone. But that's just what it is: It looks nice, has nice features, but the quality is horrible, left alone their customer service.

1.0 out of 5 stars Its Cute, that's all it has going for it, January 8, 2009
This review is from: Philips ID9371B/37 Enhanced High DefVoice Digital Cordless Phone with Single Handset (Office Product)
I purchased this phone for my home office after weeks of research on other phones. I liked the design of it, and the size of the phone and was ready for something stylish especially when clients come to the office.

The Pros:
Its very stylish, the handset feels like velvet, the clock display is excellent.

The Cons:
Its a horrible phone, my handset buttons stick all the time or don't press when I press them.
There are no headset jacks or BT capabilities. If you like holding a phone to your ear for over an hour, this phone is great. Otherwise you better be wiling to share your conversation with everyone around you.
Sim card for address book only. My phone doesn't use a sim card and you can't put other memory cards or connect to a PC
Special ringers - these don't work for me because for some reason whenever I call the phone from my cell phone it says my voice mail is calling so nobody answers. It doesn't display my number either, just says voice mail. Also for a lot of clients that call me it says voice mail is calling as well instead of displaying their actual phone numbers. I don't have any address book entries named voicemail, it just does it on its own, which leads me to my problems with the Caller ID.

Caller ID:
I'm giving this its own section because this is the actual reason why I'm getting rid of this phone. The caller ID is horrifyingly bad. Its miniscule. They have this giant color display and the text on the caller ID is TINY. I have to squint and peer at it to even read it and even then half the time I can't tell what in the world it is saying. I've missed many important phone calls just because I can't tell who is calling me. I'm only 32 years old so its not like I have eyesight issues.

All in all, this phone fails to deliver. I'm giving it away to my sister who doesn't need the features I need like the ability to see who is calling and talk to someone on a headset. Lucky her, because this phone costs more than its worth.

2.0 out of 5 stars headset, November 9, 2008

I ordered this phone and one other to try for my home office. The thing is beautiful but the fact that it has no option for a headset, plug in or bluetooth makes it useless. Who would make a product designed with a long talk time with no headset capabilities? According to their customer service department Phillips.

I found this phone online and purchased it on Amazon as it was a beautifully designed phone that promised lots of features and was very aesthetically pleasing. Unfortunately, it does not deliver.

The sound clarity is poor. The volume of the phone cannot be increased and is insufficient for normal conversation. The phone chimes every hour on the hour. You cannot disable this function. While the chime is very pleasant sounding it becomes much less so in the early hours of the morning when it wakes you up before you intended to do so.

I read all the reviews on this site as well as another. There seems to be two different opinions on this phone. It would appear that people are reviewing two different products after you read the reviews for this telephone. I wanted the naysayers to be be wrong based upon the design and look of the phone. They are correct. I have returned this telephone and purchased the Panasonic KX-TG820B for much less than the Phillips.

While the Panasonic is not as beautiful of a telephone I hope it will work much more beautifully than the Phillips. Do not waste your time or money on this item.

4.0 out of 5 stars really happy with this phone, July 19, 2008
By
This review is from: Philips ID9371B/37 Enhanced High DefVoice Digital Cordless Phone with Single Handset (Office Product)
I bought this from Circuit City and have been extremely happy with it. The clarity is amazing, the speaker phone is one of the best that I have ever used, and the range is pretty spectacular. Yes, there are some quirks. For me, the biggest issue is that the entire time the phone is on the base, it is backlit with the clock. I have this on my nightstand and it is bright enough to be annoying. My wife loves it b/c she uses it as a night-light to get to the bathroom, but i hate it. Instead, if you take it off the base when going to sleep it will stay lit for about a minute and then turn off completely. in the morning, I simply place it back on the base and I'm good to go! The price is very high, but in my opnion, well worthg it!
