Book Description

Astronomy January 1, 1999
Take a walk on the near side of the moon! More than 500 physical features are named and indexed: maria, walled plains and craters, mountains, valleys and rilles. See where the Luna, Ranger, Surveyor, and Apollo spacecraft landed, and get the history of the moon's geology (such as its origins and seismic activity), as well as the latest findings on the moon's composition. There are statistics, information on gravity and atmosphere, comparisons with the five largest satellites of the solar system, and a discussion of the moon's scientific importance.

This review is from: Philip's Moon Map (Paperback)
This is essentially a map of the Moon that closely resembles a state road map. It has a reasonable index and labels the major features. It doesn't try to identify everything you could see with a large telescope but it is useful tool for the average binocular observer, a viewer with a small telescope or for a classroom wall.
