Some epilators are created far more equal than others,

This review is from: Philips Norelco HP6475 Satin Ice Epilator (Health and Beauty)
To ensure smooth legs for my wedding day, I decided to buy an epilator. I bought the Norelco based on very positive recommendations from my European friends.
They could not have given me a better recommendation. The epilator is quick and efficient. The ice attachment takes care of any negative sensations during epilating. I also love the fact that my skin does not get irritated nor leaves me with the usual nicks and cuts. I have not even mentioned the difference in hair on my legs, much thinner and lighter. You hardly see it growing back (after two weeks in my case). No more blades for me! I have been converted. Recommend this to every woman that is looking for beautiful smooth legs!

Got Satin Ice for Christmas and love it. Now, if you were shaving before, first 2 weeks you will have to epilate about every 3 days as hair grows out at a different rate. Later, it will be once a week. Hoping to reach once a month mark within a couple of months once all bigger hairs are gone for good. Pain: anyone who tells you that it does not hurt AT ALL: a) has severe nerve damage and can not feel anything to start with b) has been doing it in a hospital while under epidural :) Now, I am a big ninnie once it comes to pain. I was able to do my legs w/out major discomfort. It does not feel great around ankles or doing your arms. A little tip: Bactine (rub it on and let it dry before proceeding, DO NOT use greasy antibiotic ointment with pain relief!) will help you deal with problem areas. Comparing this to other methods I've tried: shaving - used to irritate my skin. Waxing - waxed areas used to throb after procedure. Also, $60 goes as far as one and a half waxing. As for pinching - not sure how hard you you have to press it against your skin to get that to happen. Cooling head also guides you as far as how hard you can press. Coming from Europe, where a almost every lady has an epilator, I was surprised how unpopular they are in the United States and especially shocked I could not find them in stores!

All the features a girl could wish for,
This review is from: Philips Norelco HP6475 Satin Ice Epilator (Health and Beauty)
I had been using an old Epilady which got the job done ok but didn't grab the pesky little hairs which then grew to be pesky long hairs, necessitating more frequent epilation. This epilator grabs all of the hairs, and does it much more quickly than the Epilady did. Now I just run the epilator up my leg once and it grabs everything the first time around, whereas I used to have to run it over and over trouble spots. I was skeptical about the ice pack, and actually bought the product for the shaving and exfoliation heads, but it's really nice, especially when you're working in painful areas such as back of the knees, armpit, and bikini line. Overall the Satin Ice is great, both more gentle and more efficient than the older model epilators.
