Some epilators are created far more equal than others,

This review is from: Philips Norelco HP6475 Satin Ice Epilator (Health and Beauty)
To ensure smooth legs for my wedding day, I decided to buy an epilator. I bought the Norelco based on very positive recommendations from my European friends.
They could not have given me a better recommendation. The epilator is quick and efficient. The ice attachment takes care of any negative sensations during epilating. I also love the fact that my skin does not get irritated nor leaves me with the usual nicks and cuts. I have not even mentioned the difference in hair on my legs, much thinner and lighter. You hardly see it growing back (after two weeks in my case). No more blades for me! I have been converted. Recommend this to every woman that is looking for beautiful smooth legs!

Got Satin Ice for Christmas and love it. Now, if you were shaving before, first 2 weeks you will have to epilate about every 3 days as hair grows out at a different rate. Later, it will be once a week. Hoping to reach once a month mark within a couple of months once all bigger hairs are gone for good. Pain: anyone who tells you that it does not hurt AT ALL: a) has severe nerve damage and can not feel anything to start with b) has been doing it in a hospital while under epidural :) Now, I am a big ninnie once it comes to pain. I was able to do my legs w/out major discomfort. It does not feel great around ankles or doing your arms. A little tip: Bactine (rub it on and let it dry before proceeding, DO NOT use greasy antibiotic ointment with pain relief!) will help you deal with problem areas. Comparing this to other methods I've tried: shaving - used to irritate my skin. Waxing - waxed areas used to throb after procedure. Also, $60 goes as far as one and a half waxing. As for pinching - not sure how hard you you have to press it against your skin to get that to happen. Cooling head also guides you as far as how hard you can press. Coming from Europe, where a almost every lady has an epilator, I was surprised how unpopular they are in the United States and especially shocked I could not find them in stores!

All the features a girl could wish for,
This review is from: Philips Norelco HP6475 Satin Ice Epilator (Health and Beauty)
I had been using an old Epilady which got the job done ok but didn't grab the pesky little hairs which then grew to be pesky long hairs, necessitating more frequent epilation. This epilator grabs all of the hairs, and does it much more quickly than the Epilady did. Now I just run the epilator up my leg once and it grabs everything the first time around, whereas I used to have to run it over and over trouble spots. I was skeptical about the ice pack, and actually bought the product for the shaving and exfoliation heads, but it's really nice, especially when you're working in painful areas such as back of the knees, armpit, and bikini line. Overall the Satin Ice is great, both more gentle and more efficient than the older model epilators.

Great product!,
This review is from: Philips Norelco HP6475 Satin Ice Epilator (Health and Beauty)
This is the best thing I ever tried for hair removal. I shaved, I used old Epilady, I tried waxing. But this epilator is the best. It removes hair much more effectively then old Epilady, and of course then shaving. And it much easier, less messy and less painful then waxing. I was a little worried that it would not remove hair as well as wax did, but it really does. And the pain is nothing comparing to the waxing. Now I don't need to spend time and money to go to the salon for waxing. I also liked the exfoliating head which works really well and prevents ingrown hair.
I highly recommend this product!

A very versatile product,
This review is from: Philips Norelco HP6475 Satin Ice Epilator (Health and Beauty)
I've been using epilators for years now, and decided to splurge on this one when my old philips epilator broke. First off, the ice is not very useful. I don't like the cold and it makes the skin wet, which makes it harder to go back and epilate any missed spots.
I do absolutely love the detachable head pieces. I love the exofoliator. My skin looks a lot better and there are much fewer ingrowns because of it. The shaving head is also nice for when I do not have time to full on epilate. . .And overall, the epilator is a tiny, powerful machine. It pulls out fine hairs as well as the thick ones. It works fast and I spend a lot less time going over the skin again to get out stubborn hairs. This is a good buy for those who can afford to splurge a bit. . .

Having been on a search for the best hair depilator, I have used or investigated many of them. This one is excellent. I haven't used the the ice feature but the basic item is better than anything I have used so far. Great price coupled with Amazon's free shipping.... unbeatable.

Yikes! I've been waxing and epilating for years and have never had any real problems nor found it particularly painful. When my last epilator died, I decided to try this one, mainly because of the interchangable heads.
I started on my legs and didn't notice any problems at first. In fact, I was rather pleased because it seemed to work relatively quickly compared to my Braun. I did have redness, but that's typical with epilation. However, the next morning, I found a small abrasion on my knee and several pinprick sized scabs across my legs. I couldn't figure out what had caused it and didn't give it much thought. Last night, I moved on to other areas and it was then I learned that the Satin Ice is responsible for the cuts on my legs. When I passed the epilator over my right armpit, I ended up with a bloody looking mass of skin -- the epilator was ripping the hairs out with so much force that each folicle bled. Needless to say, I won't be using the Norelco again. I would give it no stars (or negative stars) if they had the option.

I'd used the Epilady (sp?) years ago and remember it being extremely painful. I was intrigued, however, by the positive reviews of this product and thought I'd give it a try. I was pleasantly surprised -- The discomfort was very minimal (certainly no worse than waxing), and I loved the fact that the device was so simple to use. Best of all, there was no mess. Results were comparable to a leg waxing. It's worth buying.

this procduct i got recently from amazon was one of the best i have used so far...the price was worth purchasing and it was in good condition when delivered...the epilator works wonders on ur skin rather than the other shavers available in the market...when using for the first time it might feel pricky but as you use it,you might get used to it...its easy to use and non-messy which is wonderful...overall a great buy

wow i'm amazed,
This review is from: Philips Norelco HP6475 Satin Ice Epilator (Health and Beauty)
I have been waxing my legs for a few years on and off and I had been looking at epilators waiting to find the right one. Its much less expensive than waxing so how could I go wrong. I ordered this one because of the ice pack that attaches to the epilator just in case the pain was too much for me. I ordered from amazon on may 19th and got it 3 days later even though they said it wouldn't get here till june 1st.
So, I was already thrilled. I used it right away on my legs without the ice piece which you don't have to use, and it was easy and not painful at all. You can feel it removing hair, but it didn't hurt at all. The unit is so much smaller without the ice pack and doubt now that I will ever use it. I used it on my arms and underarms today and it was easy, the hair was removed very quickly, I didn't need to keep going over the same areas over and over again, there was no swelling or discomfort at all. It removes shorter hairs that you could never remove with waxing. This is one of the best things I've bought in a very long time. I recommend it to everyone. |
