Great picture quality.

I was pleasantly surprised to find that I get clear reception of ALL local channels using only the antenna provided with the product.

Some design flaws: Why is there no On/Off button or Volume control on the remote?

Setting it up took a long time. Setup did not come on automatically the first time I turned it on. Just press options, then make sure it is set to AIR if you are not hooking it up to cable....otherwise it won't receive any channels. Then select channel installation and do an automatic scan. If you don't get enough channels you can try rabbit ears or a better antenna. I used rabbit ears, but the plug on the TV is so restricted that it's very difficult to screw on most antenna connections. Terrible design there. I had to modify a push-on antenna connection with a Dremel tool so it would fit. I couldn't get some of the local channels on the included antenna or rabbit ears (rural area). I finally put the rabbit ears about six feet above floor height in a window and got good reception of local channels with an excellent picture. The remote is poor, with no volume control or on/off button. It does have mute. Sound is what you would expect from a small TV, but acceptable. After all that I am very happy with the TV.

It does as advertised even though people make complaints about this product, they obviously didn't do the research first. This 9" DTV/FM unit is not supposed to act and be like your BIG WIDE SCREEN TELEVISION...so let's get that out of the way.

But what this unit does do is replace a Radio Shack 5" AM/FM/VHF/UHF Black and White TV. I wanted it in the kitchen mostly for FM Stereo which this unit gives but also any local Air Channels. If you buy this to connect to a DISH, DirecTV, Charter Box, etc...then I can only ask one question: Why would you?...buy a bigger TV that lets you do this.

Anyhow, some also complained the remote doesn't control volume. To this I say, connect a pair of amplified speakers with an On/Off Volume control. Sounds better anyway. Secondly, the antennae really works well within 50 miles of a major city. If you live in the country, don't expect this to do what your other tv's can't do. Enough said about that too.

Another complaint: No DC power cord for vehicle use. My answer to that: Go buy one as you did for that $200 I=Phone and didn't complain. Besides, why would you use this in a car? DTV is finicky when the car moves and you do have FM on the dashboard, right?

My only somewhat gripe is the FM antennae connection. It's a small pin like plug that easily bends if you get rough with it. I just wonder why they have two connections: One coaxial for TV and the pin plug for FM when they could have wired it inside the unit thus only the coaxial would be necessary.

Other than that, I pick up over 40 channels in the Ft Worth Area and about 35 FM stations. And the picture is good for being an LCD screen. Easy to use and setup...another complaint by other users.

I bought this TV to use in the kitchen, intending to hook it into my DISH satellite system. Although the box indicates it will work with "cable", this is not exactly the case.

After messing with this for about a week, I finally realized it had no pre-set channels on it. Therefore, I could not set it to channel 3 or 4 so it could receive the signal from my DISH box. I called Philips Customer Support and confirmed this.

This TV will only work with systems that do not require a box to de-scramble the signal. If that is your intention you should be okay, and this little TV has an absolutely gorgeous picture.

I also suggested to Philips that hardly anyone is familiar with a TV without channels and they really should do a better job of advertising this on the box. I expect we'll see lots of these showing up at a reduced price in the "opened box" category. Like the one I am returning.

Cable TV to expensive, this could be the set for you, i work 3rd shift so i don't get to watch to much TV,..anyway i ordered this after seeing what a good picture it had at thanksgiving dinner over my brother's..for $89.00 it's a great deal,i keep mine plugged up all the time, so the antenna is in a stationary position all of the time,.. i have not tested the battery life,i have not had a reason to take it any where yet so i can't comment on the battery life. The only time i had trouble with receiving channels was when the weather was bad outside! The FM tuner is pretty good also, the overall sound quality is good,...I'm very satisfied with this little TV

After reading several dismal reviews I kept investigating and discovered that the PT902-37 9" TV was very highly rated by several electronic review sites. Dispite the few bad reviews I had read, I decided the PT902-37 was worth trying. I was very surprised just how easy the set-up actually is, with-in 5 minites from box to watching TV! The instructions are simple and straight-forward I don't know why some reviewed the set-up badly or difficult. I have nothing but good to say and highly suggest if your looking for easy set-up, great reception and a beautiful picture I don't think you will find a better TV than the PT902-37 and to top it off you get a FM tuner as well. I highly Recommend this portable as I know you will not have have any of the problems as some reviews suggested, in fact I'm sure you will be as happy as I am with my PT902-37, in fact I've bought a second one for my 85 year old mother and she's just as happy with hers as I am with mine. She can't get over how nice the picture is for a small TV. We live 90 miles apart and we both get over 17 channels with the stock antenna, I am in Warwick, R.I. and She lives in Westfield, Mass., I know you also will not be disappointed with your purchase.
Enjoy your new TV, RadTechJim
