Electronic Skip Protection (ESP) automatically stores digital music information during play (using a 45-second buffer) and inserts it in place of lost information when the CD player is bumped or shaken, preventing interruptions caused by shocks and vibration. Playback options include 30-track programming, resume (a bookmark function that picks up playback where you last stopped), repeat (track or disc), and random play.
A hold switch prevents unintended interruptions in playback and saves batteries by negating playback when the player is stopped. Auto power off kicks in one minute after playback has ended, an additional battery saver. The onboard one-bit digital-to-analog converter renders digital audio as smoothly and accurately as possible. The player comes with headphones and a handy belt clip. The player runs for about 25 hours on two standard AA batteries (not supplied).

I bought this awesome cd player at [local store] for [$$$]. It was time for a new cd player as I gave my old philips to my nephew. I considered Sony's DE350 and after my experience with my first philips cd player I figured I'd get another one. Prior to buying this cd player i bought a Memorex MP3 cd player which skipped when not being shaken at all. I kept that for about a day before returning it and getting the Philips. As was my last one this cd player is solidly built and isn't at all heavy. The sound quality is excellent when hooked up to a home stereo. The headphones are OK. Pros: Cons:

I use this CD player in the gym almost every day.....I've dropped it at least 5 times already and it still works like a champ. No skipping unless the batteries are very low. The only bummer is that it doesn't have an AM/FM radio. But I like the see-through design. If it had a radio, I'd give it 5 stars.

Best CD Player I've Ever Owned,

this is probably the best CD player i've ever owned in my life. when i got it, i thought it was okay. i wasn't really looking for a durable cd player; just something that would last me for a while. well, i was in for a surprise! i have dropped this cd player on concrete over 20 times, and nothing has happened to it! i even take it with me when i mow the lawn!! the hold feature helps when i'm on the lawn mower or in the car. also, the ESP system is WONDERFUL! even when riding around on a bumpy lawn mower, it never skips! AT ALL! probably the best feature is the fact that this is not a batter-guzzling machine. i don't have to change the batteries often, and that saves not only money, but time, and by that i mean because the battery compartment is inside the cd cover, which could be a pain to open or a plus because you won't accidentally open it. however you look at it. all in all, this is definately a 5-star cd player.
